Spicy and tangy flavor at the front with lots of flavors of cherries, malt and some honey. Lots of malts and a warming alcohol finish. Medium bodied and very spicy on the tongue.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 antzman (314) - Clarksville, Indiana, USA - FEB 21, 2006
Bottle. Pours a red/brown with an intensely frothy head. It must have taken this a couple minutes to die down. Very malty aroma with a bit of dried fruit. The taste is initially spicy, and a bit sweet. Maybe some cherry and fig. The flavor does not last very long on the palate, but very pleasant. Not a bad beer, but not a great one.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 awaisanen (1312) - Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 9, 2006
Nice, reddish amber color with a monstrous cream head. Very grainy aromas with a touch of raisin. Flavors are a bit more exciting as some cherry and roasted almond seems to be coming through. Aroma and flavor balance is much blander than I expected, and the finish is short and grassy with an odd sugar reside at the conclusion.
