3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Cornfield (5240) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - DEC 11, 2005
Caramel in body and ecru of head, it’s got a sweet malty aroma gone a tad sour. The flavor is a sweet, buttery toffee with light cherry or plum flavoring and a finish that turns bitter and sour. Kind of light-weight for a winter ale, but sessionable.

Medium copper colored body with a slightly off white head. The aroma is interesting with some funky hay and canned peahes. There is also a hint of cinnamon and some light tartness of very subtle balsamic vinegar. The mouthfeel is light and airy with the carbonation. The taste is canned peaches with some slightly spicy cinnamon in the finish. There is also a little bit of apple. A decent winter warmer that I like because it isn’t spiced too much.

Large white head (bubbly) settles quickliy.
Medium amber color. Nice yeast bread nose. Caramel initial flavor that turns bitter right at the tail.

33 cl bottle. 7% ABV on my bottle. Deep orange-brown beer, nice clarity with a huge rocky yellow head. Great persistence on the head. Sweet malty aroma with the faintest wild, lactic hint. Some faint leathery notes, white grapes and a bit of dustiness. Nice yeasty flavour with light light spiciness, a bit of sweet breadiness and some dark plummy fruit. Peppery finish. Finishes fairly dry with a lingering fruity finish.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Holdwine (1000) - Beertimore, Maryland, USA - NOV 20, 2005
Nce, slightly spicy intro to the winterbrew seaon. Pricetag packs a bigger whallop than the taste! Expands with warming. Strong malty character after huge tannish head. Nice enough.

Bottle. I know it is not yet Winter, but...Brownish orange, nice tannish head. Slightly oxidized fruity aroma with a hint of acidity. Bif and malty with a pleasant fruitiness and slight acidity. Decent enough, but nothing unusual.

Bottle from EDA. Rather plain and boring. Caramel dominated with a bare hint of spices. Brownish colored with an off-white head and moderate lacing left behind. Flavor is fairly malty, no real spices are apparent. Decent.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Ungstrup (22911) - Oamaru, NEW ZEALAND - SEP 18, 2005
A hazy orange-red beer with a nice light brown head. The aroma is quite light with some spicy notes of coriander and cloves besides hints of oranges. The flavor is sweet malty and quite spicy and fruity with notes of wood, oranges, cloves, coriander, as well as lingonberries. The spiciness gives it a dry end with a slight alcohol burn.
