Color is a burnt orange with very active carbonation and a tall off white head. Aroma is a fruity sweet yeast scent. Taste is fruity and tart. Starting with a medium body it goes down fizzy with a creamy feel. Finish comes on with a tart apple taste followed by nice Belgian yeast notes. In the after taste the tart turns just a touch bitter and leaves you with an almost wine like taste. This is a great brew, a little light for a Winter brew but it is a tasty Belgian.

750ml Bottle: Aroma of yeast, spices, alcohol, and some apples. Poured amber in color with a large, dense, light tan head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Very sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly astringent. Tastes of yeast, malts, grapes, slight grains, light caramel, and light spices. Medium body. Fizzy, slightly dry texture. Lively carbonation.

Slightly hazy reddish brown with a generous two-finger head, full retention and good lacing. Aromas of lemons and apples, just a bit sour, with sugar cookies and yeast. Bready malt flavors up front, with a touch of sourness, followed by honey and spices. Medium body, lively carbonation, and a lingering sourness that is rather unpleasant. Ok, but Belgium does much better.

On tap at In De Wildeman. Clear dark amber colour, off-white head. Aroma of slightly roasted malts, caramel and fruits. Flavour is fruity, caramel, nice at first, but then it becomes dry, bitter with a bitter metallic finish. I love metal, but not in my beer.

What a gusher! Pours a clear copper color with a massive, rocky, fluffy, yellowish head which settles a small layer and leaves minimal lace. Nose is crab apple, tart cherries, faint caramel, and light cobweby yeast; tart and boring. Flavor is not any better; cobweb yeast, dust, tart cherries, faint caramel, maybe vinegar? Palate is drying, not quenching, light to medium, and nearly fizzy. Finishes quickly and drying with tart notes (cherry) and yeast (cobwebs, dust). Wow. Just bad; tart, not complex, finish is repulsive, no malt notes to speak of. My rating may be too high.

(Rating #2108)

aroma reminds me of those chocolate covered cherries that have a sticky corn syrup filling and makes my teeth ache just looking at the box. Late autumn color in the glass, dark brown with a bit of orange. Some haze and a lingering pillowy white head like whipped cream. Very yeasty up front, kind of throws the other flavors around chaotically. Some orange peel, some cinnamon, but no foundation and it’s very hard to enjoy. In fact this beer is off in a way that reminds me of how the taste of food is off when I’m sick. I couldn’t finish this and I even split the bottle. Drainpour.
