3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Dogbrick (4522) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 2, 2011
On draught at the brewpub in Köln. The beer is a clear gold-yellow color with a medium foamy white head that evaporates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Fruity aroma with notes of grainy malt in the background plus a bit of hops. Light body with a sweet fruity character and notes of grassy hops and malt interwoven throughout. The finish is sweet with malt and fruit lingering behind. Above average overall.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 kjc51478 (277) - Cologne, GERMANY - NOV 14, 2011
0,2 Draft at Brauerei. Appearance is clear, golden-yellow color with medium, fizzy, off-white head. Aroma is wheat, grains, and sweet malts. Taste is also heavily malty with grains and strong wheat component. Also obvious fruitiness is evident. Palate is light- to medium-bodied, clean texture, somewhat acidic, average carbonation, and a sweet finish.

Tap at the brewery, pours a nice brighty yellow head that retained, lots of grains, bit of smoothness, overall very nice good offering
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Nekronos (2627) - Xalapa, MEXICO - SEP 12, 2011
Nice, another Kölsch in Köln. Although not from there. Nice foam and nice taste, not so strong.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 JRock72 (788) - - SEP 3, 2011

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Christian (8042) - Odense, DENMARK - AUG 18, 2011
On tap at the Brauhaus. Golden with a lasting white head. Aroma of malt and cereal with herbal hops. Sweet malty flavour with herbal hops and a good bitterness. A hint of cardboard pulls down the rating a bit
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Koelschtrinker (6544) - Köln (Cologne), North Rhine-Westphalia, GERMANY - JUL 31, 2011
Sehr getreidiger Antrunk, wenig süß, etwas monoton. Süffig, etwas trocken, zunehmend herber Werdend. Auch die Süße steigt noch an, das Bier wirkt wenig abwechslungsreich. Wenig Hopfen und Honig. 12/10/11/9//10
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 MartinT (6146) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 10, 2011
My Bottom Line :
Limp pils malts develop honey and mild butter until timid wooden hops attempt to reach balance.
Further Personal Perceptions :
-A sheet of foam laces atop the darker gold (than the average Kölsch).
-The soft natural carbonation does wonders for the mouthfeel.
-The malt personality also created crackers and biscuits in the flavor profile.
-The hop character was dull.
-This was not bad by any means, but it was not as refined (or fresh-tasting) as the best examples of the style. Could I have gotten the bottom of a cask? Or maybe the slow evening made this cask last a little too long for the beer to feel crisp and cohesive?
On tap at the brewery restaurant in the altstadt.
