Fruity nose with evident minerals. Dry and hoppy, yet fruity and slim. Quite similar to the family rival kölsch at Päffgen. This one is a bit more fruity and has perhaps slightly less depth. Still this remains by far the second best kölsch on planet earth. thebeertourist (2774), Oslo, Norway

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 5, 2009 Draft at brewpub in Koln. Sweetish, fresh-bready nose. Very pale amber color. Lightly sweet, malty-bready taste that fades into a light bitterness. Nice but could use more oomph. MiP (9025), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Weak spicy aroma. Clear golden colour. Big stable white head. The flavour seems a little sour, as from unclean lines. Apart from that, it is OK, hint of spicy hops. As it warms, it gets a little papery character. Not as clean as expected. harrisoni (6770), Ashford, Kent, England
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 2, 2009 From the cask in the Pfaffen pub, Koln. Pale gold, but dark than the others I tried today. More malt in the body. Good hop finish. Bit of earthyness. Fuller than most Kolsches, even some fruit. Bit of honey even. Bit drier than others. Good character. Slightly honeyish dry beer. Good. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2008 Golden colored with medium sized white head. Crispy hopped, slightly lemony aroma with thin flowers too. Thin to medium bodied. Flavor is also dominated by hops, lemon also strong here. Some metallic harsh note in aftertaste, otherwise ok brew. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 6, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Clear gold with a white head, slightly yellow tinged. Excellent lace. Bready and floral with a leafy herbal note. Crisp with a slightly tart bite, my second favorite kolsch in Koln.
