3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Deep blond color, clean, with compact head. Malt aroma, simple. Good body strength, lean mouthfeel; some malt flavor with moderate sweetness; it has some more character than most North American attempts, and light fruitiness. Correct bitterness.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Tasty N Alder. Clear sparkling golden. Wispy white foam. Nose is fresh orange blossom, fresh yellow cake, vanilla, marzipan, spicy clove and mace. Taste is excellent mild candi sugar, vanilla, poundcake, spicy clove, subdued grassy hops and no cloying sugar. Insanely well made Abbey Tripel minus the apple pear esters. Shockingly to style and better than Delirium Tremens and its forerunners.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at PIB, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma is full of hay, biscuity malt, and barnyard notes. Flavour brings out loads of hay and biscuity malt. Very dry and hay-like, with a lot of drinkability. Not as complex or impressive as many other pFriem beers, but still very solid.

Tao @ Pok Pok Noi... Poured pale golden with a retaining white head. Nice floral notes with a delicate mouthfeel. Worked well with the spicy food. Yeast spices and nice Belgian yeast characters going on. Some hop bitterness but overall balanced and smooth. Some citrus with other light fruits too.

Pours a dark yellow and this is a really great beer. Super easy to drink. Has a sparkle to it. Paired well with the burger that I had. Big Belgian yeast taste without too much funk. A certain spice set hits the tongue as well.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
So clean looking. A nose of slightly boozy banana and a little acetone all mellowed out with bruised pear and bread. Smooth, creamy and rich. A dryer beer all the way to the finish which has a really late twitch of bitterness.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Eureka! University Village
Straw pour with a nice white head. Enjoyable aroma despite the inappropriate glassware: the expected banana/bubblegum/clove amora with some dusty sunshine. A nice touch of lemon (not sour, just a hint) in the flavor, doughy belgian blonde, a nice hop snap at the close reminding one of its origins. I spent more time drinking this than analyzing, but I imagine I’ll be back.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at the brewery. Strong Belgian yeast aroma with some spice. Clear apple juice/straw color with great lace. Light fruit -- pear and peach -- aromas. Good bitter, earthy aftertaste. Thin-medium body. This could be a Belgian lunch-time brew. The yeast notes are perhaps a bit too strong. But really a solid brew.
