The great brewmasters of the Pacific Northwest are reverent of the past and its brewing traditions, but never cease to look forward, tinkering and experimenting to create flavors that are uniquely bold and new. Case-in-point, Pfriem’s Blonde IPA— Its refreshing blast of citrus and secret ingredient (sunshine) will have you looking forward to another before even enjoying its just bitter enough finish.

Bomber shared at the July MDF tasting. Clear pale golden, thin fizzy white head, decent retention. Aroma of grainy malt, floral hops. The taste is grainy malt, citrus hops. Medium bodied.

Bottle @ RBSG 2015. Clear golden pour with white foam. Tons of orange, peach, and melon on the nose. Maybe a little on the sweet side... Some grape and grapefruit, as well. Not too much in terms of bitterness. Definitely some pale malt flavor and a slight sugary note. Good orange, grapefruit, and a hint of pine. Big time fruity hops and possibly esters. Pretty nice.

Sampled at the brewery. Golden and clear. An almost white head. A full glass of lace. Pine and fitrus are smelled. Classic but with a twist. Grass with pine. Bitterness creeps up. That blonde simplicity and rich malty pleasantness meets west coast IPA. It works.

Had on draft at the brewery. Brilliant clarity, huge fruity hop aroma, citrus, papaya, dry finish, lingering bitterness.

Bottle from TJs. 5-27-15 A: Gold color with a spacing of rushed bubbles. White lazy head. Some lacing.N: Pine, orange peel, grapefruit, grassy, crackery, pineapple and earth on the fringes, some lavender and white peppercorn.T: Quite bitter to the point of astringency, light sweetness.M: Very dry, bit of booze, medium-light body, fizzy carbonation.O: Potent IPA. Not as successful as the regular - too much booze and not enough late addition hops for me.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with a smallish off-white head on there. Nose is floral and crisp with just a hint of Belgian yeast to it. Taste is bitter and dry, but fresh and easy to drink. Nice brew...

16.9 oz bottle. Aroma is this crazy funky hoppy thing; I’m getting seedy berry jam, grapefruit, latex, pine--very unique. Clear golden pour with a medium white lacy head with great retention. Taste isn’t as nice, but it’s still different than your average IPA. Medium bitterness, citrusy, earthy. A little thin. Really good overall.

Bottle (500ml $4): clear light gold. White head that disappears moderately fast. Medium plus body and medium carbonation. Citrus. Light bitterness in the finish. Overall I am liking this more and more.

Another winner from pFreim. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A big fruity nose, dank and some biscuit. The flavor is sharp resin, dank fruity hops, sweet honey touched soft biscuit malty base. Pretty balanced. Very smooth and delicious. Awesome beer. So damn smooth.
