3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
pFriem IPA on tap at Imazato. It is a slightly lighter in color than the Fred but it remains a lovely honey gold with a filmy off-white head. It’s got a resinous hop that gives me peppery prickly pear that evokes tropical fruits. Med-full bodied with a prickly carbonation. This is a classic dank resinous piney IPA featuring pine sap and bark. Well balanced and easier drinking than you’d expect from 7.2%

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle share at Kenny’s 20K, thanks to Dave. As ’pFriem IPA’, 7.2% bottled Sep 2015. Clear orange, still, small foamy off-white head, dotted lacing. Aroma is pine, zesty citrus, lime peel. Body is rounded, smooth, tingly carbonation. Taste is piney, floral, chalky, dry with a soft finish. Quite nice.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Imazato. Poured a clear darkish gold. Very hop forward aroma, fruity and floral. Taste follows suit, a lot of tropical fruity, some dank. Quite assertive bitterness, standard for the style really. A solid IPA, nothing to stand out from the crowd but it offers a refreshing tasty hop flavour.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle consumed at Kenny’s 20K tasting, thanks to Dave. It pours clear amber with a medium white head. The nose is fresh, rather juicy, orange candy, sherbet and a hint of toffee. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, big hit of alcohol heat, wood, straw, bitter orange and grapefruit rind. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Plenty of bitter orange about this. Quite good, but the alcohol is too big of a part of this beer.

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
After trudging through years in a sea awash in forgettable NW IPA’s I found this at my local grocery store. And I’m now a reborn IPA lover! In short, the closest copy of Piny the Elder I’ve found.
Perfect hoppy and sweet aroma matched by an intense floral hop and malty taste. But not syrupy or overly bitter. Excellent attenuation in the ferment but just enough residual sugar remaining. Crips yet a hefty gravity. Bravo my man. Bravo. Just spectacular. And 3.99/bottle at three stores in walking distance from my house - this beer is a gift from the hop gods. Thank you.
