COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When the first Pale Ales were sailed around the Cape to arrive in India in the early 18th century, outcries of “Zounds! Jolly good! and Huzzah!” were heard across the East Indian subcontinent. Similar exclamations are to be expected when sniffing the piney aroma and tasting the big hops, huge citrus and candy-like malt of Pfriem’s own IPA. Drink up, Guv’nor.

Clear gold, nice white head. Smells bready, peppery, and toasty. Nice crisp palate. with a tasty, peppery hop bite. Clean finish. Pretty darn good with tapas...

Tap. Dark gold, white head. Hoppy bitterness from the start. Not much complexity. Balance could have been better.

Amber in color, hazy with a thin white fluffy head. Super IPA flavor and finish. Great IPA and terrific yeast and citrus finish. Great Job pFriem Brewing.

Growler from Chuck’s 85th. Pours dark golden yellow with thin creamy white head. Aroma is grainy malt and earthy hops. Taste is clean crisp lightly toasted malt with big earthy herbal bitter hop finish. Lingers bitter. Nice, well balanced IPA, allows the hops to shine. Another simple, excellent beer from Pfriem.

Damn. A really nice IPA. Has a solid grain note that is soon eclipsed by the twin flavors of guava and hops. A real nice blend and use of hops. Delicate with a punch to it.

On tap at pFriem, pours a clear golden copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of pine, with a bit of floral and grapefruity hops -- very aromatic. Flavour brings out a blast of piney hops, with some citrus and grapefruit cutting in later on. Just enough balance from crackery malts to back the high dosage of hops. Finishes very bitter and dry. Definitely an IPA for more extreme hop heads. Excellent.

Tap at pFriem, Hood River, 24/05/13. Listed as 7.2% ABV. Clear light golden with a thin white head. Good lacing ensues. Nose is light floral hops, juicy hops, hint of piss, grapefruit, orange pith. Taste comprises bitter grapefruit, hops, light pine, grass, orange pith. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, hop bitterness in the finish. Decent IPA.

On tap at he brewery. Strong dirty hops, light manure. Dark straw color, thin smooth head with great lacing. Citrus hop hit initial; good sweetness underlying the mid palate; lengthy bitter aftertaste. Medium body. Very well made, smooth, and eminently drinkable. I’d have another right away.
