Oakes (12639) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 23, 2014
Draught, St. Augs. Cloudy, pale. The aroma is yeasty, maybe a touch peppery. Sweet front, then yeasty, with just a touch of hop dryness. Ok, certainly quaffable, like a proper classic (low alc) saison should be.

reebtogi (4215) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - JUN 16, 2014
Sampled during VCBW 2014 pouring a pale straw color with a finger of white head that leaves some decent lacing behind. Aroma is lemons with some lemon zest and grains. Taste is a lemon sourness with some bitterness from the rind and light malty sweetness. Light body with modest carbonation. Not so bad for a light saison. Refreshing and easy to drink.

MrChopin (3347) - Baltimore, Maryland, USA - APR 27, 2014
hazy lemon, murky white top, oily. Soapy lemon cleaning product nose, light wheat. Flavor more balanced, light dough and citrus at heavily carbonated front, mid more soft dough, lactic before the lightly metallic toasty finish, watery long.

fiulijn (14790) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAR 9, 2014
Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy pale blond color. The aroma is a bit lemony and orangey; the mouthfeel is not too weak or too dry; light wheat flavor with light spicy presence and some bitter orange peel; quite bitter overall.
It’s a regular Witbier (I would have expected a drier, cleaner and sharper beer to be defined Saison).

Draft at the source. Clear pale yellow color, thick white head, solid lacing. Aroma is funky and dusty. Taste is funky rye and carraway seeds. Interesting.

Draught. This is a decent saison that is perfect in the temperate Oregon summers.

3fourths (8055) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - SEP 10, 2013
Draft at the brewery in Hood River. Lean, light and tart with floral and herbal and juicy lemon. Crisp Pilsner malt fluffiness and chewiness with round, frothy carbonation. Turns a bit astringent / waxy / rind-like in a full glass, and resinous too, but similar in nature to overuse of German hops (and this might have Saaz in it): overly pithy and astringent when the body is so lean. It’s almost 4.0-level stuff, I think, if the bitterness was brought down a bit. I certainly enjoyed it more than the regular Saison, which seemed acidic, tart, phenolic, tropical and nearly sour.

My choice of the two saisons that I had. This one is a little brighter and not weighed down by alcohol. Has some really nice fruit taste to it. A touch of Belgian yeast ties it together.

On tap at pFriem, pours a cloudy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out light notes of lemon and dill, along with some rustic notes. Flavour brings out notes of lemon and dill, followed by some dry hoppiness and slight florally rustic notes. Highly drinkable, finishing dry and dill-like. Great saison.
