very rustic again, very nice, Matt reynolds would really like this one. No sourness, grassy and herbally. Very nice.

Bottle from QFC University Village

Cool label on a cap-and-corked bottle. Yellow hazy pour, nice full white head. Really dusty, peppery aroma with plenty of lemon. More banana on the flavor than I’d like, along with ample dust and pepper. Quite a bitter close. This is pretty good stuff even if the esters go a bit over the top.

375ml bottle, from somewhere in PDX. Pours a hazy, straw yellow color with a big white head and some lacing. Aroma is yeasty, clove, some bread. Light on the palate with big, soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, bread, yeast, clove, a little bubblegum, some hop bitterness, with a bitter, yeasty finish. Excellent.

375 mL corked bottle poured. Bottled only a couple weeks ago, which is always nice. Pours a cloudy yellowish color with a swirling white foam head. Big lemon citrua, belgian yeast aroma. Flavor comes off as heavy belgian to me as well, with a lot if citrus flavor bite. Juicy orange flavor late in the palate. Tasty saison for sure. Good stuff.

Bottle from the local Trader Joe’s. A: Cloudy orange-gold with a huge foamy white head. N: Clove, banana, yeast, grass, straw, peppercorn, lemon, hay, a hint of sulfur and minerality, a lot of cereal grain, doughy biscuit underneath the esters, and a touch of burnt toast at the very bottom. T: Sweet, bitter, and spicy, almost all in proportion. There is a hint of Belgian-IPA/Blonde in this. M: Light body, spritzy carbonation, no alcohol presence. O: An intricate dance of a saison; sits in that middle ground between Logsdon and the actual Belgians. I think the yeast used here was a good choice; I could see myself drinking this as a table beer.

375, corked and baled. Big eggy sulphury nose, but not unpleasantly so--lots of white pepper and minerals there as well. Creamy medium body with lively carb. White pepper, minerals, and lemon custard on the mid palate. Long dry finish.

Bottle, awesome label. Pours a cloudy orange color with a large white head. A big fruity estery yeast nose. Lemons, dry malty base, big yeast, banana, light pepper and lemongrass. Solid. Very drinkable.

Blonde and hazy. Aroma has phenols and yeast up front. Phenols and kiwi and yeast....unusual character. Not great but not bad either. Okay saison...definitely new world, and I’m not sure that’s for the best.
