Bottle 50cl from Kevnic, a clear yellow beer with medium head. Nose is a bit vegetable like, aroma is on peppery hops, dry, low malty, grassy hops too, very basic.

Bottle- Pours a light golden color with a decent head and some bits of lacing. Aroma of citrus, bit of malt sweetness and grainy. Light taste of citrus with some malt sweetness and grain. Mild crispness and a clean finish. Light body, crisp and smooth with a nice balance. Nice beer for the style even though it is nothing fancy,

It smells penetrant, flowery-bitter. The taste is a bit citrus, penetrant bitter, watery-vegetables. Not my beer! 8/5/5/5/8/5

Schlechtes Export! Test vom 15.4.2011, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 8,8,7,7,9,8 - 7,75

Beer in the glass better, zippy, nice head. Starts spicy and strong, well balanced, modest sourish, some lemon notes. Finish still spicy, quite drinkable.

A very fine example of the Dortmunder style and one of the more enjoyable Export beers on the market in Hessen that I have been able to drink. I will definitely be returning to this one, since I can buy this brand in my neighborhood whenever I have the taste for it. Super, refreshing and crisp. A pale, yellow beer with a big, snowy white head that has good retention. Superb lacing coats the glass. A steady stream of bubbles rises to the top as you drink. Aroma is spicy and yeasty with hints of citrus. This continues in the taste, which pairs the bite with a modest hop bitterness. Complex, but subtle, very clean, very refined and finishes short and snappy. I am rating this beer very highly because I think it absolutely nails this style, perhaps improving on it. If you do not like this style, you are not going to agree with me, but if you do, you should not miss this one. An Export that is beautifully executed and this is why I am and always will be a big fan of this brewery.
