ratman197 (2214), Arvada, Colorado, USA Jun 9, 2008 On tap @ Phantom Canyon poured a cloudy yellow with a small lingering white head. Aromas of banana, wheat, clove and yeast. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of wheat, banana and light clove with a smooth lingering banana finish. luckygirl (1212), Longmont, Colorado, USA Mar 2, 2008 Draught at the brewery. Beer is cloudy, light-to-medium brassy-caramel brown. Head is small, frothy, off-white, mostly lasting head.
The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted bread; Hoppy with a light floral note; Yeasty with trace notes of sweat, dough, light notes of basement and banana/clove; Moderate miscellaneous notes of orange zest, coriander.
The flavor is light/moderately acidic/juicy, lightly sweet, trace bitter with a lightly acidic, trace sweet finish. Slightly rubbery and husky retros, spice-particle finish is kind of squeaky and unclean.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is soft-to-lively.
Mostly OK, but seems over-spiced. BDR (1855), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jun 2, 2007 On tap at the Phantom Canyon Brewery. Hazy, almost cloudy lemonade yellow body with white head. Banans and wheat in both the nose and the body with a bit of a yeast bit. hopdog (4482), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 14, 2006 On tap at the Phantom Canyon Brew Pub. Poured a light and cloudy yellow color with a small sized white head. My first impression was that this was very weak looking for a Hefe. Aromas of clove and bananas. Tastes of cloves, bananas, lemons, and wheat. Light lacing left on the glass. Thinner body. BrewDad (1600), Olympia, Washington, USA Oct 6, 2006 [Colorado Road Trip – 2006]
This was a nice deep golden unfiltered color. The aroma strong banana and the taste were also very good. I liked this Hefe.
