Aroma is vanilla and oak with some whiskey notes. Pours medium brown with light head. Sweet caramel and toffee notes with strong whiskey flavor. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle #76 at The Barley Wine Tasting, London - thanks to Kenneth for bringing this one. Pours hazy ruby with a light, beige cream head. Nose of rich alcohol, toasty caramel with touches of ripe citrus and spicy herbs, pine, honey. Big sweet flavor with sugary bread, rich toffee, bit of vanilla and honey, very creamy toffee. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Warming finish with sticky sugars, some spices, some citrus, dry bread, toast, more honey, faint cocoa, toffee. Lots of nuance here. Delicious.

THE Barleywine tasting. Opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, a little soft and airy. Nice toffee malts with a trace of tangy fruits including cherry. The bourbon is quite mild. Semi dry finish. Decent. 3.7

Sweetish dark toffee, Nice dark fruits - prune and fig. Trace of vanilla before mellow whisky. Rich and tangy. Finishes with more dark toffee, this time slightly tangy. Touch of red berry fruits. A little aniseed alcohol but no real heat. Great BA barleywine. Very very drinkable.

Bottle @ THE Barley Wine Tasting. Cheers to Ken for the pour! The pour’s deep brown with a medium white head. The nose is cocoa powder, cherry, toffee and light bourbon. The taste is straightforward for a BA Barley Wine - plenty of malty toffee and cherry flavors, light chocolate with shocks of vanilla and wood. Full body, a sipper. Nice, but not a standout on the evening.

UPDATED: SEP 4, 2012 Bottle #76, thanks to Ken at THE Barley Wine Tasting, August 2012. It pours dark brown, with a thin beige head. The nose is cherry, plum, raisin, red grape, wood, light bourbon, toffee, lightly toasted coconut and jam. The taste is toffee, caramel, wood, bourbon, plum, raisin, cherry, blackcurrant, raisin, oak, dryness and chocolate, with a warming bourbon finish. Full body and low carbonation. A flavoursome, fruity barley wine.

[ Bottle #96 ]. Light unclear medium brown amber colour with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, light beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, bread, caramel, light alcohol. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, salty, caramel, caramelized caramel - malt, dried fruit, light chocolate - vanilla. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20120616]

Bottle @ Papsø. Pours a slightly hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a sweetish malty caramel and dark fruit aroma. Sweetish malty bitter hoppy caramel flavor with hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish malty hoppy bitter caramel and dark fruit finish.

Bottle at Papsø. Hazy red-brown coloured with a small off-white head. Sweet and fruity aroma of caramel and dried fruits with notes of soy sauce. Sweet and fruity flavour of caramel and dried fruits with notes of soy sauce and oxidized notes. Sweet finish.

Bottle at Papsø’s - Thanks. Cloudy amber - white head. Salty, fruity, toasted, caramel, nutty, nice fruity, high sweetness, vineous, oakey, light whiskey, toffee, nice.

Bottled. Dark amber coloured. Small light Brown head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, oak, Spice, flavour of ripe fruits, vanilla, oak, medicin, caramel. Medium to full bodied. Ends on a herbal bitter note.
