A beautiful flaxen colour, this textured Golden Ale has a rich, full-bodied mouth feel. The creamy yet nutty overtones of the Nottingham yeast create a rounded balance that we at Phat Matt’s are proud of. This unique ale leaves a lasting impression that satisfies the drinker who values substance over hype.

Rated based on notes taken 19 May 2012 -- Shared by Cheryl and Zac. This was a very nice Golden ale. Better than a typical golden.

Bottle: Dirty amber, large frothy sandy head, nice lacing. Grainy mealy aroma, a little bready. Bready on the tongue, malty, light graininess. Not as mealy or grainy as the nose suggested. Moderate sweetness, a touch of sweet soil on the backside. Body and mouthfeel are moderate. Malty mealy finish, moderate sweetness. Okay, but not the bright variety.

Bomber from Harry & David in Medford, OR. Pours hazy amber with a 2 finger creamy beige head. Aroma of a light brown ale. Almost a hint of chocolate. Med body - at least while the carbonation surges. Flavor has a greasy nutty character with a little hint of chocolate. It finishes bitter - but it’s almost like a bitter nut. Maybe my imagination is getting out of hand. Much more pleasing to drink than a typical "golden".

A mid-high amount of alcohol in this Golden Ale. A nice perk of course. Another new Brewery to me. It’s good, very rich, not as light and crisp as most Golden’s. Reminds me of the texture of a Bitter actually.
