COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Deep chestnut in colour this British style IPA offers a straight forward, no-nonsense approach to a classic style of beer. The late hop additions contribute floral and pine aroma’s that make this Matt’s personal favourite. The hop profile is not overpowering, starting crisp and fresh and building to a mellow, bitter finish. A generous dry hop emphasizes a green hop accent with an enjoyable aroma.

Came in a nice big bottle. Great taste, I wish I could have had even more to drink.

Draft at Green Dragon Portland, OR on 5 June 2013. Poured a hazy golden amber colour with a short lived white head. Floral hop nose, not too strong. Good initial hop bitterness, light but pleasant. Slightly watery mouth feel, but a rounded palate.

Deep gold, clear, off-white head. Aroma is grainy/bready malt, a little buttery note, light resiny hop character is very subdued. Flavor of grainy malt with a little caramel, hop character (which is resiny) is very faint for an IPA. Not bad, but hop character is very subdued for an IPA. Grainy-sweet malt dominates.

Bomber. Pours a clear dark copper color with a medium white head. A light fruity nose. Sweet caramel, dusty, light citrus. Ok. Light flavors.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Nice IPA flavor and finish. Good malt backing this was a very tasty IPA.

22. Pours a murky dark amber with bright golden brown edges and a sudsy tan film on top. Big caramel and oranges nose, with some candied orange peel knocking around. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, nuts, toast, and lots of oranges with candied peels on the mid palate. Sweetness grows into a pronounced brown sugar on the finish. On the sweet side, and, while it’s hoppy enough, it’s virtually unbitter at every turn. Appealing IPA for those who avoid the bitter ones, kinda like a hopped-up wintery brown.

On tap @ TapHouse in Seattle. Light amber colour, hazy, lightly lacing cap. Aroma is earthy leafy hops and sweet malt equally. Flavour is sweet straw-like malts and earthy light hops. Pretty light, and quite British in character, whether that was intended or not.

Not bad for the price point. $3.50 I think. Nose of toffee, peppery and earthy hops. A little sugar and a little caramel. Pours copper, off white head, soft lace. Flavors of toffee, light biscuit, caramel, peppery and earthy hops. Not unpleasant. Fairly unassertive but easy to drink. Decent beer.

A decent IPA. Hazy amber with good head. The malt profile didn’t work for me, wouldn’t be my first choice. But probably goes great with food.
