Bottle. Clear golden body with lasting white head. Nutty toasty, white bread aromas. Medium bodied with average co2. Same toasty, nutty, yeasty, lightly sweet flavors___nicely bitter finish--

22. Pours a hazy medium amber with bright golden edges. Loose creamy white head here and there with a bit of drippy lace. Sweet marjoram and shortbread nose--some sugary cracker there, and some sugary herb as well. A little on the sweet side. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Caramel, shortbread, and a bit of herbal sweetness on the mid palate. What on earth this beer has to do with a kolsch is beyond me, but it’s sort of tasty and doesn’t seem to have anything really wrong with it.

650ml bomber listed at 4.7%ABV pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a finger of white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is grainy with some herbal notes. Taste is grainy malt sweetness with a herbal bitterness. Light to medium body with decent carbonation. Not like any Kolsch I have ever sampled before, but an interesting brew and recommended.

Bottle:   Darker side of straw, some haze, large frothy white head, nice lacing.   Nose is grainy and mealy, not crisp in the grassy sense.   Not too crisp on the tongue either, but the graininess and mealiness arent as strong as the nose suggested.   A little astringent on the backside.   I would never have guessed this a Kolsch.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Finishes with a barnish/musty straw/hay that eventually develops into a slightly astringent graininess.   Hmmm... liked the other Phat Matts, but this one seems to be a miss.

Golden in color, clear with a thin head. Nice Kolsch flavor and aroma. Fairly decent kolsch. This would hold up well for a summer hto day brew.
