Commercial Description:
Kenzinger is a quenching golden session ale that boasts a European birthright while displaying a certain Philadelphia sensibility. Kenzinger is crisp and smooth enough to refresh, but with a spirited, unforgettable flavor that delivers 100% of recommended daily taste bud stimulation. Brewed with pure pilsner malts, light on the bittering hops but loads of hop flavor and aroma; Kenzinger is bound to be your new standby.

(Rating #1393)

So far, I’m not really impressed with much from Philly Brewing Co. And this offering falls short of impressive, as well. This blond ale pours a bright and clear golden color with a decent-sized white head. The head leaves a nice amount of lacing around the glass. The nose features some grassy and citrus notes, but the flavors are otherwise bland. There isn’t really much to write home about with this beer. The flavors and body really left a lot to be desired with this one.

Pale straw colour. Aroma is of lemon/orange citrus. A touch of straw. Quite sickly sweet with an overabundance of sweet orange peel and maybe even some coriander. Bleh… truly awful.

THOUGHTS: A really nice session beer. A truly unique flavor too. Not my favorite types of flavors, but very memorable and distinct. I will probably get this again, but probably in the warmer months. Should make a great summer refresher. Fairly British. I would have guessed by the name it would be more German. It tasted better on the cold side. Not a sipper. Drink it before it gets too warm. My bottle said 4.5% ABV. TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a cloudy, dark yellow with a small, white head that mostly diminished and left fair lacing. The aroma was light to moderate straw and toasted malt, moderate floral and perfume hops, lighter grassy hops, light to moderate earthy yeast, tea and a little citrus. The initial flavor was acidic and slightly sweet, while the finish was acidic, sour and slightly bitter with and average duration. There was mostly citrus and yeast, along with a little toasted malt and some hops in the finish and a little tea also. The light to medium body was slightly creamy with fizzy carbonation.

tap at Silk City- for some reason, the last time I had this beer, it was soooo good and refreshing. I don’t understand how it became so good, but it did. It is the usual, cheap craftbeer, that should replace yueng at everybar in philly. pours golden clear, nose is strong hoppy character, some pine, some light spicy citrus notes, some breadyness. taste is quite a rounded hoppy flavour that is worth every penny of $2.00, It is a gold standard for session ales.

nice golden color with a thick foamy white head and decent lacing. aroma is very yeasty with some citrus, pepperand bubblegum. flavor is disappointing...starts with a touch of pepper and then is overpowered by a stringent medicinal hoppiness. mouthfeel is watery and finish is dusty, dry, and abrupt.

Pours a pale golden color, hith a huge white foamy head. Aroma slighty hoppy, grassy. Taste of hops. Not much else present. Maybe a touch of citrus.Comercial Description is better then the beer.
