DeadGuyFrank (345), http://westchesterbeer.com, USA Jun 1, 2008 Classic malty version of the IPA style. Nice easy drinking, but hoppy enough for your West Coast IPA style fans. Very good for a introduction of the style to novices, all around good beer from the Bartons. Cheers to my hometown brewery. otismulligan (11), Yardley, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 1, 2008 My second purchase of phila brew co. So kind of had a good idea of what to expect, as I loved the Kenzinger. And all in all I wasn’t let down.
Very heady pour, nice golden murky color. Mild subtle hoppy flavor. Alcohol content is a nice bonus.
Although I am a fan of PBC, I have found that there is some consistency misiing in the overall tastse in a case. Yet, For the price, I can’t pass it bye. DocLock (4170), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle. Deep coppery pour with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is piney hops, caramel malt, some fruit, pineapple. The palate is fairly rich, around medium in heft, with a solid pineapple/pine needle hop flavor matched by decent amounts of malt. This one isn’t a world-beater, but it is not too shabby at all. agl108 (367), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 12, 2008 On cask at Teresa’s Next Door. Poured clear, light amber with creamy bone white head that left solid rings of lace. Started with notes of caramel then finished with a moderate citrus profile. Respectable hop/malt balance. Pretty toned down for an IPA, but very sessionable. Better than its rating to date. jcwattsrugger (4045), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Sep 22, 2008 12oz bottle-pours a foamy off white head and cold color. Aroma is pine/light resin, orange, some light malt. Taste is pine/light resin/herbal, northwest hops-some bitter, orange, lemon, some light malt. Dry finish.
