COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1682 William Penn signed a treaty with the Native American leaders of the Shackamaxon village, which later became the district of Kensington, where our brewery is located today. This is a rich, dark brew made with chocolate and Munich malts and aged on French oak. We hope you enjoy sipping on this full bodied imperial stout.

A-- Poured black, no light penetrating at all on this. One finger light brown head that holds its own pretty well before slowly receding to light milk chocolate film. Swirling gets a dark brown head that quickly changes to the original light brown color. S-- First smell got lots of molasses and tobacco. After letting it sit and get some air I got fruity and floral cherry smell mixed with roasted malts and a bit of oatmeal with the molasses and tobacco. Not as thick smelling as first few smells gave to this. T-- Thick and tar like molasses and cigar tobacco taste. Some hop bitterness to back this up but quite earthy with dirty burnt coffee. M-- Thick, chewy and heavy. Hop presence is in the front and a small bit on the back of the mouth. Get some stewed dark fruits in the back of mouth mixed with the dirty and thick coffee taste. Molasses and cigar taste are mostly in the front and get a big of that feeling of licking an ashtray at the end. Very different. O-- A lot of overwhelming at times tobacco taste but not that bad

Bomber generously shared by PaulUnwin. Cheers, Paul! Pours stout brown with a tab head. Nose is chocolate, roast, toast, earth, and some dark fruit with a hint of booze. Flavor is similar- chocolate, dark fruit, and roast with toast. Interesting beer with a hint of wood and dark fruit in the finish. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber. Poured medium-deep brown with a tall, kind of odd smoked tan head (looser-bubbles on the edges and very dense on the middle).. some sticky lacing as it descended. The aroma picked up warm cocoa, vanilla, and rye bready malts with accents of ever-so-slightly charred oak and a pinch of dark fruit.. loved it! The flavor found lightly-smoked black malts, cocoa, and vanilla at the core, with tart oak and vinous notes laced throughout.. earth and cocoa bitterness plus another hit of oak on the edges.. finished warm with tasty roasted malts and complementary barrel. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. just OK transitions through the mouth.. overall a well-balanced and mighty tasty brew.

PBC is putting out some consistently good offerings. This imperial stout puts a nice light touch on a style that is often overwhelming. Nice roast, and nice oak dryness, slight bitterness, to balance the malt. Smooth and creamy.

Draft at Capones in Norristown, PA. Pours pitch black and completely opaque except for the faintest of mahogany edges and a two finger beige head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Chunks of lacing left behind. Roasted malt aroma with faint hops and some dark chocolate sweetness. Smokey but not acrid or burnt with toast, coffee and dark chooclate.  Subtle lactic cream and piny hops. Medium bodied with a decent balance of dark roasted malt, lactic cream, sweeter malt notes and earthy hops.  Subtle floral, earthy hops provide bitterness that compliment the dark malt.  Hints of dark chocolate, toast  and coffee with subtle  lactic cream adding to the palate.  Toasted oak lingers into a bitter dry finish.   Becomes more sweet as it warms but is still not very balanced.  Abv well masked but it’s a bit dry for my liking hurting the drinkability.

Dark dark brown pour with brown head. Smell is coffee, cocoa, oak, and dark roasted hops. Dark dark brew and quite hoppy. Roasted flavor with some bitterness.

From notes: Bomber. Poured ink-black with a thin, caramel-colored head. Mild aroma of coffee and maybe some chocolate. Not as thick as expected. Medium-bodied with a dry dinish. Coffee flavor with some alcohol bite in the finish that got stronger as it warmed. Good, but held back slightly by the alcohol bite.
