COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1682 William Penn signed a treaty with the Native American leaders of the Shackamaxon village, which later became the district of Kensington, where our brewery is located today. This is a rich, dark brew made with chocolate and Munich malts and aged on French oak. We hope you enjoy sipping on this full bodied imperial stout.

Sampled at Boise’s Imperial Stout get together, over 120 bottles to choose from. Going with the flow on this rating. This was one of my contributions to the cause.

Vintage 2011 Aroma - rich roast, coffee, and chocolate Appearance - black body; opaque; 1" tan head rings out; little dappled lacing Taste - nice roast, chocolate, a little rich coffee, and some astringent bitter Palate - body is full; texture is slick; sticky, and thick; carbonation is lively; finish is boozy and astringent from the rich roast.

Bottle. Black pour with a quickly fading tan head. Aroma is heavy on the dark fruit and raisin with some degraded chocolate. Taste is mostly dark fruit, raisin, and plum with some hop bitterness and slight chocolate. Mouthfeel is neither coating nor thin - somewhere between. Subpar imperial stout.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with tan foam. Nose is coffee, cola and dark chocolate. Creamy medium body with a sharp tang. Taste is dark roast, prune, tobacco and hay. Sweet dark fruit contrasts with burnt, bitter notes but doesn’t quite come together. This might be my last appearance on the Top 50 Raters of Big Beers.

On tap at Barcade. Really enjoyed this one. Aroma of burnt toast, rye, and sllight coffee. Pours black and thin with a small dusty head. Taste is exactly like those hard burnt sourdough Amish pretzels. Roast mouthfeel and kind of dry. Very unique. I like it.

AirForceHops (2992) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - JAN 26, 2014
Draft at Barcade, Philadelphia. Thick tan head sits on the stout and laced the sides as I drank. Deep roasted malts filled the air as I inhaled. Crazy amounts of roasted barley and malt. Flavor of cocoa, deep barley, roasted grain, semi sweet chocolate with a light oak in the finish. I really enjoyed sipping this because the 10% was nowhere to be found. I had to remind myself to sip. This is without a doubt the best beer from this brewery. Nice.

Draft at Baggataway. Pours black with one finger of diminishing mocha head and rings of soapy lace. Nose of chocolate, roast, caramel. Medium body, slightly creamy, some carbonic notes.

Dark black-brown body, medium khaki head, spotty lacing. Assertive chocolate, some roast, and oak. Medium to full bodied, moderate carbonation, lingering roasted finish. Straightforward and pleasant.

This one poiured a medium brown color with a beige head. Aroma was lots of anise, black patent, and light alcoholc. Flavor was fairly roasted, light dark chocolate, and some booze. A pretty good impy, and very impressive from this brewer.
