Commercial Description:
The famous American poet Walt Whitman once described a particular Philadelphia sunset as consisting of, "...a broad tumble of clouds, with much golden haze and profusion of beaming shaft and dazzle." Sounds remarkably similar to our fragrant, satisfying take on the traditional Belgian white ale. Walt Wit's citrus and spice flavors deliver a transcendental drinking experience. Walt Wit is brewed with only a whisper of hops and a hint of herbs to set off the flavor of white wheat and oats.

Draft: Poured a cloudy golden yellow with not too much head. The aroma was citrus, lemon and a hint of spice. The flavor was good, with orange and spice present. Not overly spicy. Overall, a tad weak in flavor but good non the less.

12oz Bottle: Slightly cloudy golden w/ a large off-white head & some blotchy lacing left here & there. Aroma is of corainder, citrus , banana & some yeasty notes. Flavor is mostly wheat & coriander. Kind of bland, it’s not bad, but I was expecting a little more in all catagories.

A: Murky hazy gold with a tight white head composed of zillions of tiny bubbles. The foam dissolves fairly quick but bubbles remain scattered across the surface through out the whole glass. A: Citrusy, specifically lemon with spice notes..coriander and yeasty phenols. Some malt sweetness in the aroma too. F: Starts off sweet and soft up front quickly yielding to a big dose of citrus and spice. The citrus and spice dominate the flavor and then it finishes a little too chewy for my tastes.

Bottle: pours a clear, golden amber with a thin white head, lemony aroma, taste has some citrus and light spiciness, thin mouthfeel, not cloudy like I would expect from a wit, overall not a bad brew.

Pours a slightly hazy yellow with thin white head. Aroma of lemon, spice and grains. Flavor was wheat, citrus and coriander. Thin body, but quite refreshing on a hot afternoon.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy white head and hazy yellow color. Aroma is wheat/grain, perfumy spice, musty. Has some farmhouse traits. Taste is cardboard/burnt toast dominates the herbal/tannins, wheat/grain, perfumy spice-pepper, musty. How am I getting tannins in a Belgian Wit? Aroma was OK/nice. The taste went downhill throughout. Didn’t get any yeast character either.
