The famous American poet Walt Whitman once described a particular Philadelphia sunset as consisting of, "...a broad tumble of clouds, with much golden haze and profusion of beaming shaft and dazzle." Sounds remarkably similar to our fragrant, satisfying take on the traditional Belgian white ale. Walt Wit's citrus and spice flavors deliver a transcendental drinking experience. Walt Wit is brewed with only a whisper of hops and a hint of herbs to set off the flavor of white wheat and oats.

Green Rock Tavern, Fishtown. On the sweet side, to be certain, nice froth. Great style with the pencil on the beer tap paddle.

On draft at the TLA at a rip off price, but that is irrelevant. The pour was hazy straw yellow, nice head that laced weakly and disappeared quickliy. The body was thin and carbonation average. Aroma of faint spices, grains, some citrus. Flavor followed, up front bready notes, not enough depth in the orangey and coriander spicing. Pretty darned drinkable and decent but not excellent by any stretch, also not a great example of the style.

Hazy golden yellow body, thin white head, sparse lacing. Wheat, lemon zest, light spice. Medium to light bodied, overcarbonated, a bit thin, a little sweet.

Bottle from House of a Thousand Beers. Pours cloudy yellow with a thin white head. Doesn’t leave much lacing. Has a slight orange note on the nose. Has a slight grains of paradise thing on the tongue. finishes clean. A bit boring for style.

Pours a hazy yellow with a thin white head...pour retention...dull looking. Aroma has orange and lemon. Flavor has orange rind and muddled spice...wheaty. mouthfeel is medium and the finish is earthy/bitter and plasticy.

12 oz bottle from the sampler case. Not much to say about this beer in the positive. So glad I at least got a free glass for buying the case.
