Brouwser (119), gatineau, Quebec, Canada May 1, 2008 De mémoire.
Dorée, avec un col moyen.
Parfum de houblon très floral; herbes et agrumes.
Goût amer, l’alcool est discret malgré le "double IPA"
Bière dense et rafraîchissante.
C’est très bien mais ce n’est pas deux fois meilleur qu’une IPA régulière... hapjydeuce (763), Del Mar, California, USA Feb 27, 2008 Bottles-a-plenty in Whistler with J. We resorted to this as precursors to walking quazzed & wasty through the village with Stauber’s crew. Pretty damn balanced for your average-tasting double IPA. Clear deep gold color and a tasty looking white head and lacing that looks like it comes straight from the tap. Strong bitterness is complemented by a crisp malt undertone that eases into a pleasant aftertaste. Sure as hell beats Alex Keith’s since it seems to be the most popular up north in those parts. jarspag (593), Los Angeles, California, USA Feb 26, 2008 Had numerous bombers of this while in Whistler, BC. The real go-to brew since everything else at the store was pretty much crap. It did its best to fulfill the hop craving after being on the slopes all day. Really a nice all-around big hoppy IPA...the malt manages to play a role and the bitterness doesn’t get out of control. Right in between the floral crisp IPA and the syrupy malt bomb. I enjoyed it! Highly recommended if north of the northwest border! Cletus (5001), Connecticut, USA Jan 30, 2008 Pours copper with a generous tan head. Smells of perfume, flowers, soap. Tastes bitter with some tea like undertones. What makes this an IIPA? The hops are way too subtle and hidden on this one. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada Dec 5, 2007 Tasted in Vancouver while attending the 70th IETF. Vessel: 650ml bottle. Glassware: crappy hotel bathroom glasses. Appearance is amber, clear thin white head. Soapy, bitter hoppy aroma. Flavour is malty and bitter. Finishes with a lovely bile like ending. Seems somewhat similar to liberty ale. Nice. (Rating #1361) GonZoBeeR (2156), ste-Eulalie, Quebec, Canada Oct 11, 2007 Aroma:good hopy aroma...
Appearance:Hazy amber with a mega huge hopy head....
Flavor:good hopy flavor and light carmel very sweet for a double ipa.... Boutip (2334), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Oct 4, 2007 Bottle: Poured a deep dirty amber and hazy ale with a nice foamy head with some great retention and some good lacing. Aroma of bitter hops is dominating with some subtle notes of resin hops. Taste is also dominated by some bitter hops with some light resin notes. Malt presence is a bit weak for the style and some citrus notes would have been appreciated. Interesting and probably one the first bottled IIPA coming from Canada but slightly below average for the style.
