joss (3632), Garching b. München, Germany May 17, 2006 Bottle. Pine, grass, slight cracker aroma. Amber, off-white creamy lacing head. Fairly lightbodied, nice hit of dry bitter and some aromatic hops, herbal and spicy honeyish notes. Dies relativrly quickly on a metallic note. JaneHanratty (10), British Columbia, Canada Apr 17, 2006 Bottle: Nice looking beer, good head & lacing, very bitter. Very masculine bittering - strong, not particularily subtle. Could use more malt. Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Apr 10, 2006 Bottle at Volo. Slightly hazy amber over white creamy head. Anise, ginger hop aroma, lila, rose petal, toasted malts and hay. Initially very bitter, green bitters with medium raw aftertaste. Limited malt work. Average. andrewfriesen (23), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Feb 27, 2006 I’m a big fan of these ridiculous IPAs. I’m a hops freak so the more they can jam in, the better. The finish was so long and bitter. I liked it. Not for everyone. BBB63 (4199), La Porte, Indiana, USA Feb 25, 2006 Bottle from Josh, thanks!
Served in a standard ole pint glass and pours a hazed sunset orange with a small but everlasting frothy head that left good lacing. The aroma is more muted than I would have figured (but improved as it warmed) with orange peel, clove, and black pepper spice wrapped by a moderate leafy pine character. Additionally there is some bready and biscuity malt detected by my sniffer. No notes of fusel alcohol which is a good thing. The taste starts with a evenhanded hop bitterness and citric tone supported by mild pale malt base. However as I drank it further, it seemed to be a bit more unbalanced. A hint of spice and dry yeast notes on the finish with a moderate metallic aftertaste. The body is a touch thin but smooth overall and drinkable. Again there is no real sign of big alcohol presence. Good brew, not otherworldly but there is a place in beergeekdom for those brews too. bridge (659), Sydney, Australia Feb 10, 2006 Updated: Feb 28, 2006I found this one a little bit over the top. Clear golden orange with a piss poor head. Orange and other citrus fruits in the aroma, with some piney hops. Also, I detected a butter menthol presence which seemed to detract a little unfortunately. Quite a biting bitterness, which is backed up by a middleweight body that is trying hard to fight the heavyweights. Pulled up short. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Jan 28, 2006 650 ml bottle courtesy JoeMcPhee. Orange amber colour with a frothy white head. Caramel, toffee, orange citrus, fruity, and woody aroma. Light caramel and bready malts with a long lingering grapefuit and piny bitter finish that comes across a bit harsh. Medium bodied, smooth. turg (156), Quebec, Canada Jan 13, 2006 Bottle 650ml: Appearence: Golden-amber colour. Aroma: Big hop, citrus, nutty malt. Flavor: citrus, malty. Thank JoeMcPhee.
