COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a BIG beer. Mind Blowing ammounts of hops give this beer tons of flavour and aroma. Not for the faint of heart. The big mean cousin to the original Phillips IPA.

I was VERY happy with this beer. Actually not overwhelmingly hoppy-- in other words, I thought this was an unusually well balanced brew. Impressive, fluffy head that took a while to recede, golden body color. That familiar aroma of pine resin and citrus, without the slightest harshness. Fairly silky palate, but with a dry, sticky finish. Paired this bottle with a nice plate of curried lentils with feta cheese and cherry tomatoes.

650 ml bottle in mug during camping trip. Frothy off white head. Nose is tropical fruit. Mango and citrus. Good amount of malty sweetness. Taste is a bit metallic. Strong hoppy bitterness and malty backbone. Lots of citrus and grapefruit. Great mouth feel!

650ml bottle, clean honey gold cour, with a big rocky pillowy white head, leaving some lacing. Nice mild floral tropical fruit, citrus, leafy, soapy, hoppy nose, with some candied peach, orange peel, light orange candyish lollipop, honeyed pale, toasted, munich malt, lemon marmalade accents, with a faint lemon pie crust note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a warmth citrus candyish fruity, flowery leafy, citrus, resiny, grassy hoppy character, with some mint leaf, lemon marmalade, lemon, grapefruit zesty rind, faint honeyed pale, munich, toasted malt, light lemon lollipop flavours, leading towards a warming candied lemon, grapefruit peel, lemon marmalade, zesty lemon rind, light honeyish pale, munich, toasted maltiness, good lingering citrus, resiny, leafy hop bitterness finish.

I’ve grow to really enjoy double ipas. Citrus flavours and aroma and the head is thick and lacy. Really good beer.

Bomber poured a clear orange amber with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of bread, grapefruit zest, pine and light earthiness. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of bread, pine, grapefruit zest and light earthiness with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

22oz bottle pours a clear gold with some attractive, lacing white head. Nose is fairly approachable, big citrus, juicy grapefruit, tangerine, straw, soap, pine. Flavor follows right along, very piney and soapy, a little sappy, some grapefruit, meyer lemon, straw. Big, bitter finish. Solid.

650ml bottle in a tulip. Pours golden/amber with a lacy, white head. Aroma of floral and lightly citrusy hops, some pale and caramel malts, a little toast, some dough. Flavor the same with a nice hoppiness, but a very weird finish. Average texture. A decent beer but the weird finish ruins it.

Many thanks to cfrancis for this bottle! Fresh smooth malty. Slightly sweetish, malty, floral mainpart, malty sweetness. Nice malty bitter aftertaste. Fresh and easy to drink!

650 ml bottle from the LCBO. BB Nov 14 2014. Lots of floating matter at the bottom of the bottle. Pours an apricot colour abundant white head, which dissipates after a minute or two..Nose is all tropical fruit and pine sap. On taste, first the deep fruity notes hit, followed by assertive, lingering bitterness. I get some brown sugar and toasty malt flavours. Not a bad IIPA.

HopsandBolts (93) - Ontario, CANADA - AUG 28, 2014
Pours a slightly hazy pale amber colour with over two fingers of dense white head that last for quite a while before slowly fading and leaving a considerable amount of lacing in the glass. Aroma: Hops, citrus, banana, malt, wheat, sugar. Flavours: Malt, barley, caramel, biscuit and light hops. Mouthfeel: Very smooth and creamy. Overall: Although hops comes through in the aroma, malt is the main thing coming through in flavour. I don’t mind this as I like malt just as much as hops. However, someone hoping for a hop bomb might be disappointed.

Bottle. Dark yellow pour with a frothy head. Nose is hops and citrus. Flavor is medicinal with some nuttiness, hops, pine, and a bitter finish. Not a lot of malt balance here. Wouldn’t drink again.
