Bomber, cellared one year. Deep dark hueless brown, mocha foam mostly fades. Promising aroma of dark roasted malt, coffee bean and chocolate. Taste is surprisingly lighter roast, more smooth milky chocolate than coffee, lightly sweet and barely bitter. Softer carbonation, light-medium body, low hopped. Nice enough, but quite lean for an Impy. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

Bottle. Inky black pour with a mocha head, not much retention. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, some dark roasty notes and a touch of marshmallow. Flavour is a touch boozy, medium bodied, fairly bitter and roasty with chocolate and sort of stale, bitter coffee. I love coffee, and coffee stouts, but this tastes like the dregs at the end of a pot of cheap drip coffee. Too bad, because the beer underneath isn’t bad, and I had high hopes.

341ml brown bottle from the Snowcase. Deep brown/black with a thin looking light brown head. Nose has coffee, brown sugar and roasted malt. Taste has roasted malt, coffee, brown sugar. Dry finish with roast and mild coffee. Light lingering bitterness and no sign of alcohol. Medium body, gentle carbonation. Some good flavours, enjoyable, but a little mild overall.

Bottle into pint glass. Pours a solid black colour with small brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and coffee. Taste is about the same. If you're a fan of coffee you'll be a fan of this beer. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Not a bad stout, beautiful inky black pour with a tan head. Malty and chocolatey flavours but alsohad a weird bitter metallic taste.

Bottle shared by Willy, thanks bud! Dark black pour, thick mocha head. Aroma, mocha, coffee, vanilla, and roasted malts. Taste, mild coffee, dry roasted malts, a bit thin on the mouthfeel, very coffee forward. Overall, not bad, lacks a bit of complexity but overall pretty decent.

Well, in the past I hated their Espresso Stout but the Hammer was really good, so I have no idea what to expect. Very dark brown, thin brown head...looks good. Body is medium, some malt sweetness but maybe not enough to cover the coffee, which is clean but quite frankly boring. Can’t use boring coffee in a coffee stout - it’s the showpiece ingredient so it needs to be brighter and more complex. So overall, it’s ok, but not great by any means.

Bottle @ Yespr. Pours black with a lasting and lacing small beige head. Aroma is coffee, acrid roasted malt, cocoa, caramel. Taste is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium, texture is thin, carbonation is moderate. Finishes dry, watery and hard roasted .

Bottle from BC Liquors
Black color with generous brownish head. Aroma of coffee pot and coffee beans. Dry and lean mouthfeel; strong character of bad, day-old coffee pot; regular bitterness.
Not the beer we need.

Noir sombre avec un col moyen marron. L’arôme fort du café. Le goût est du café, malt torréfié et un peu de molasse. J’ai trouvé le café trop fort, comme le marc de café au lieu du café.
