3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a pitch black with a lovely loose tan head with decent retention. Musty rich coffee and sweet dark malt aroma, dark chocolate. Creamy mocha flavour - no doubt about either chocolate or coffee here. Light citrus hop character but very much backgrounded. Moderately thick but very creamy body with mild carbonation. This is really quite nice!

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle, shared with Parksy. Deep walnut brown pour, low tan head. Aroma is all coffee, but not possessing the rich espresso depths that I like; more like a regular cold cup of coffee, any medium roast breakfast coffee really. The palate, as expected, delivers huge coffee flavour, but comes across as thin for the ABV, which further emphasized the mediocre character of the coffee in a weird way. The underlying malts are scorchy, not lending a lot of depth or support to what my brain now has labelled fairly shitty coffee. Not feeling the love with this one.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle: Thanks Gothgargoyle: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Very black pour. Medium sized lively brown foamy head on top of a pitch black colored beer.
Aromas of coffee, espresso, some cream, some hay roast, some wood roast, some coal, coffee roast and some bay leaf roast (while there are absolutely no liquorice tones).
Flavour has a massive coffee/espresso/coffee roast that sets the tone. Delicious! Thereís also some malt roast, bitters, light spiced (say coffee spiced), hint of prunes, some tobacco, coal and tye ish tones.
Aftertaste has some good coffee tones, bitters, malt and coffee roast and some hay/grain roast with a light coal ish touch.
Medium carbo, light watery light creamy mouthfeel, medium to more full body and a light creamy texture with an oily edge.
I love this stuff. I really dig it when Imperial Stouts are thick and complex. Though this one is close to the opposite, itís not really complex, but it is easy drinkable with loads of coffee, delicious. And thereís that great label (artwork) which is made from 100% post consumer recycled materials. Win!

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours an opaque black with a thin brown head with little to no lace. Aroma is coffee, dark chocolate, and roasted malts. Tastes of dry coffee, dark chocolate, bitter roasted malts, and a touch of dark dried fruit. Of the coffee beers Iíve had I put this in the better half and enjoyed drinking it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours an opaque black with a frothy brown head that leaves little lace. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, espresso and roasted malts. Taste is espresso, dark dried fruits, toasted malts, chocolate and a nice smooth coffee bitterness. Balance of this beer is great especially for an 8 percent beer. Always tough to blend the flavor of coffee into beer but this one is nice and smooth.

2.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Dark brown, almost black pour with small tan head. Very viscous pour but thin mouthfeel. Aroma of roasted malts, espresso and cocoa. Taste of coffee, chocolate, powdery cocoa and tobacco?? Almost tastes like someone poured coffee into an ashtray, threw it in the fridge and then strained out the butts and served it. I have had some of the best imperial stouts in the world so am basing this review on how it stacks up, this beer is definately drinkable, just not by me in the future.

Looks and smells like espresso. Get a little dark chocolate on the tongue but this oneís all about the coffee. A little one-dimensional but still tasty.

650 ml bottle. Pours black with small tan head. Aromas of cocoa powder, burnt sugar, and burnt coffee. Flavors of coffee, heavily roasted malt, cola, and a bit of vanilla. A little oily and a bit too much carbonation. Still quite easy to drink and no notice of the ABV. True, a great value for less than Cdn $6.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Gooey black with dissipating brown head. Aroma of burnt espresso, burnt toast. Taste is aggressively bitter. Almost a touch of sourness from the coffee. Harsh, a little thin, and really one dimensional. Little else beyond coffee and toast.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle. Nice looking dark brew. Taste is upfront coffee, dark chocolate, dust, a bit of charred wood. Aroma is similar, with more malt. Just a weak bodied beer that I was expecting it to suck, and I wasn't wrong.
