Jun 15, 2009 Consumed in a snifter, pours a dark brown, very opaque liquid with two fingers of dense brownish head that remains lacy throughout drinking. Aromas of earthy roasted malt dominate over light hops. Taste is initially sweet like prunes then dominated by coffee and black tea, light smoke and wood, with a bitter chocolate and hop finish. Mouthfeel is creamy bubbles with some lingering stickiness. An interesting style beer somewhere between IPA and stout.

Mild roasted to acidic base flavoured. Bitter and fruity base flavoured. Light acidic and fruity into the far finish. Smooth and fruity hoppy lasting impression.

Jun 3, 2009 22 oz. bottle courtesy of JoeMcPhee. Pours a clear dark brown, slightly tinted red when held against light. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is again chocolate and roasted malt along with just a hint of cigar tobacco. Fairly smooth on the palate with light bitterness at the finish. Tasty.
