Bottle. Pours a dark brown-mahogany coloured body with a small white head. Unique aroma has some leafy hops, caramel, sweet plums, and toasty malt. Toasty malt flavour with plenty of green and chewy hop bite. Malt is a little bit under-represented but it still manages to be quite tasty and especially as it warms up. Cool. Sampled at Volo on April 29, 2006.

Thanks to Oakes for this one! Pours black with a minimal off-white head. Caramel malt aroma. Roast malt flavor that quickly adds a bitter roast bite in the finish with some assistance from the bittering hops. The sweetness stays underneath the bitter malts the complete time. Not quite a Porter, not quite a Brown Ale. Roasty, bitter, dry, yet smooth and medium bodied. Different and uniquely good brew.

Thanks to Carl for this one--From a 22 oz. bottle--Poured a dark black-amber body with a big tan head. Bright floral hoppy and sweet malt nose. Quite fruity with a big bitter finish. Nice notes of chocolate and faint raisins and caramel. Yum!

Bomber. Pours dark amber with an off-white head. I was hoping this would be a Rye IPA, but but it’s under-hopped for that. It sorta wanders into Schwartz-APA territory. There’s enough hop character to balance out the raisin and nutty chocolate undertones.

22 oz. bottle courtesy of JoeMcPhee. Pours a clear dark brown, slightly tinted red when held against light. Very pleasant aroma of chocolate and roasted malt. The flavor is again chocolate and roasted malt along with just a hint of cigar tobacco. Fairly smooth on the palate with light bitterness at the finish. Tasty.

Bomber, thanks to Oakes. Pours dark reddish mahogany with a small tan head. The aroma is grapefruit and pine, caramel, raisin, and some floral hints. The flavor also has some grapefruit and pine, balanced by slightly fruity malts with a little bit of roasty character. I pick up some graham cracker notes in there, too. The finish is moderately bitter with some distinct raisin, and leaves a woody bitter aftertaste. This is pretty good stuff.

Black with a thin off white head. Aroma is a light roastiness, caramel, light hops with chocolate, and some earthiness to it. Taste is a light hoppiness complimented by a roastiness and subtle chocolate. Pretty interesting stuff.

Hazy almost opaque brown with a kahki head. Aroma is roasted malts, citrus hops. Flavor is roasted malts, a hint of chocolate, with a light bitter hop finish.
