2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cloudy. Wheat ale. A few hops. Not as bitter as I was expecting from an ipa. But this just feels wrong. Leave a wheat beer a wheat beer and don't try to change it. Not very tasty.

ENG: 650ml bottle from Liquor Mart in Winnipeg, poured into the Teku glass. Hazy straw color with medium, tan head. Aromas of yeast, wheat, a bit funky, accompanied with strong citrus hoppy notes. Tastes citrusy but bit softer than in aroma, clovy, banana, funky plus wheat. Nice delicate clovy - bitter aftertaste. A bit boozy. Medium to high carbonation, low to medium body. Overall very good, very drinkable and very refreshing wheat IPA! I am not a big fan of wheat beers, but this one really hits my taste - this means something. I like the underlying hoppy notes mixed with that funky yeast.
PL: Butelka 650ml kupiona w Liquor Mart w Winnipeg, przelana do Teku. Barwa delikatnie zmącona, słomkowa ze średnią, jasną pianą. Aromaty drożdżowe, dzikusy, pszenica, mocne cytrusy. W smaku cytrusy nieco słabsze niż w aromacie, goździki, banany, dzikuski, pszenica. Przyjemny, goździkowo-goryczkowy posmak. Nieco musujące. Średnie do wysokiego nasycenie, niskie do średniego odczucie w ustach.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear (first glass) to hazy (second glass) straw with two fat fingers of fluffy white head, good retention and lacing. (4/5) Nose is lemon zest, mild banana and cloves, light white pepper and bubblegum, coriander, wheaty malt. (8/10) Taste is mild to moderate sweet, moderate bitter. (8/10) Medium body, moderate carbonation, moderately dry finish. (4/5)
Iíve only ever had one other white IPA, and that one was a bit of a shelf turd (and pear, to boot). So, much like with the red IPA I had yesterday, I donít have a real deep background upon which to base a review of this. (And how many more colour variations on IPA are we gonna see? Iíve seen white, red, and black so far - whatís next? Blue? Green?) That said, though this might not be the best Phillips Iíve had, but itís up there. Itís an interesting combination of witbier and IPA characteristics, decently balanced and even-handed. Worth checking out, if you can find this limited release. (16/20)
