Smells great, as wits do in that strange way, with the orange and coriander... however I didnít care for how thin this was and the flavour in general. Esters and strong hops donít seem to mix so well in my mouth... like Nanaimo bars and gravy. My second white IPA and neither have impressed me that much.

Pours a huge frothy white head and has a fairly pale golden appearance. Thick dirty lacing. Aromas are quite hoppy and yeasty. Some wheats and citrus notes as well. Flavours are mostly citrusy and fruity, some strong wheaty and malty notes mainly at first. Some orangey and slightly bitter hops in the finish. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. Full bodied. Great retention. Goes down extremely well. A good balance between the white and IPA styles.

On tap at Rogue Kitchen & Wetbar at Seabus Station in Vancouver. A pale yellow beer with whitish head and citrus nose. Very crisp and refreshing bitter citrus hop with trace of malt. Nice. 3.7.

Pretty nice wild label on the fantasy side. Pours a hazy light-golden colour with a big frothy white head, great retention and fluffy lacing. So looks like a white beer, but the IPA comes out in the aromas and taste. Big hop grass nose with some light witbier yeast, lemon notes and spices. The hops taste better than they smell. Not as strong, better balanced, fresher grass. Some more lemon and spices. Goes down nicely and a nice mix of two great styles.

Draft - Nice light leafy hops. Clear gold with a nice white head. Lychee, some other tropical notes and Belgian yeast. Not bad.

650 mL bottle. Hazy, straw-yellow with a big, fluffy white head. Wheat, honey and spice are joined by sitrussy hops in the nose. Orange. Thehops are milder in the flavour. Not bad.

A sweet malt and complex fruity nose are harbingers of taste elements to come. First and foremost, this beer has a very soft taste profile. Call it gentle. Sweet malts form an appropriate base for a varied hop profile, featuring kiwi, passion fruit, a spritz of citrus and peaches. There is almost no residual bitterness in the aftertaste. Itís a hot humid summer day in Ottawa, and am emjoying every sip of this white IPA!

Light hazy honey gold pour with a big pillowy white head. Very slow moving and minimal carbonation to view... but ample in mouthfeel. Leafy nose, with plenty of yeast, sweet lemony hops. Alcohol shows up a bit in the flavour.. but not overwhelming. Good (but not great) wheat beer backbone, bringing some peppery spice. Mouthfeel is appropriate for a strong hoppy wheat beer, itís light enough, but carries a confusing chalky feel as well. Hops are front and centre with lots of citrus, and backing of peach and melon. Mineral oils, mint, and a touch of washed out strawberry. Finish is a little wonky with notes of grit, and a little too sweet, making it feel heavy. Itís decent stuff in most areas. I can never quite figure out Phillips.

Pale straw-gold colour. The aroma is really bright and juicy. Fruity with a bright kiwi, mango and a zesty sort of hoppiness. The wheat is shockingly apparent here. Spicy and a little bit peppery. There is some fairly bright juicy happiness. A touch of bitterness but itís quite nice. Zesty and a little bit lemony. Nice beer.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a nice pure white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of citrusy hops with lightly sweet wheat malt notes is quite refreshing. Taste is a nice mix between some lightly sweet wheat malt notes with some citrusy hops notes which are well balanced against the malt bill. Body is pretty full for style with good carbonation. doesnít re-write the rule book but very enjoyable nonetheless.

Has the appearance of a pale straw colour, with a bubbly white head. Lazy carbonation bubbles drift slowly to the surface creating a decent white head. The aromas are of citrus fruits, some coriander, a tinge of light caramel malts and maybe even a tad of wheat. Palate is very smooth, very creamy. On the tongue, it is not quite your typical IPA in that it is better balanced than most. The swallow has some bitter lemon zest on the back of the tongue. I like it, as I do most Phillips beers (Iíve tried about four) but I have had better IPAs. Still, a damn fine brew.
