Pale golden pour with a white head. The nose is fairly bright and lemony. Herbal/citrus hoppiness and a fresh grassy hoppiness along with a very clean pilsner malt base. Brightly herbal hoppiness with restrained bitterness. A little bit fruity with respect to the hopping but itís very clean, very fresh and really damn drinkable. Iíd buy this by the case if it were available to me. Well underrated.

One of the best pale lagers Iíve had. None of the nastiness found in mass market beers. Pale with a thin head. Smells of elderflower with nice soft malts. Tastes of nice soft malt with flowers and soft sugars. Nice.

Pours hazy gold with a small white wisp. Aroma is light grain and a hint of hop. Taste is crisp, light biscuit malt and terribly refreshing. As Pale Lagers go, this one is a keeper.

Hazey pale old with a 2 finger frothy white cap - aroma of fresh bready malts, some earthiness and a herbal note - medium light body fresh biscuity character - flavor is very fresh, beady, musty-sweet...hops are subdued but bright and add balance - dries out somewhat in the clean smooth finish- light lemony kiss at the end - this is a first rate crafted helles lager - NOT some discount "pale lager" - not even close - good drinking and well made...deserves better ratings than it gets.

The last bottle from the BC craft 6 pack. A clear pale straw gold with a thick fluffy eggshell white head. bready pale malts with a dash of lemon. The taste is similarly bready with some citrus and an earthy bitter fairly crisp finish. Alright.

341 ml bottle from LCBO (part of Natural Selection BC Craft Brewers Sampler Pack). Pours a golden yellow with average-sized white head. Aroma is bready with a hint of corn and some grassiness. Flavour has bready graininess, a little fruit and a little corn and a decent grassy, lightly floral hoppiness. Average body. Nothing too special, but for the fact itís a pale lager that is perfectly pleasant.

Another pull from the BC variety six pack sampler at the LCBO. Mixed feeling on this one before I even pop the top off. I like the stuff ive had from Phillipís (& really dig their label design) but I find pale lagers generally hurt my feelings & diminish my soul. But look here: this is a really cool version of the style. I could use the word "crisp" to describe it but that word seems to be in every review here (and sometimes twice!) but it is crisp (oops, thatís twice) & refreshing & still has an edge. A diamond in the rough. Recommended.

Clear golden pour, small, but very lively white head. Pleasant pale malts in the nose, with some very subtle, but present dried, grassy hops. A lovely crisp, lovely mouth feel. A clean and crisp finish. Light bitterness, some light hopping, slight malt sweetness, some grasses, and even a touch of lemon zest. For what it is, its quite good. Probably the best pale lager ive ever had.

Bottle from BC craft beer sampler pack at the LCBO. Clear and bright yellow-gold with an abundant white head. Clean aroma of bread crust, light caramel, bit of boiled corn, light grassy hops. Simple and well-balanced flavour of lightly sweet and toasty malt & grassy not-too-bitter hops. A straight-up, well made pale lager. Not my usual choice of beer, but Iíve gotta respect it for being a good example of the style.
