3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle - fresh sample 3 weeks from racking. Pours a hazed golden ale in th class with a tight-pored white cap that lasts. Ginger is pervasive in the nose, some light grain tones. Peppery mouth feel. Flavour has a nice dose of pale malts in front with good balance fron sharp resinous hopping, ginger plays a complimentary roll for the hops, dry clean bittering fininh. Good thirst buster but not a real ginger beer( cane sugar, aged ginger, lemon and Fermented with a SCOBY) - this is a pale ale flavoured with real ginger, Still a good summer quaff.

Not sweet, not bitter. Strong ginger taste. Not hoppy. Mildly hot. Overall quite good if you like ginger

Big fan of this beer with a bite. But of course you have to like ginger. When Iím not drinking beer, I drink ginger ale, so this combo works well for me.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Drank from bottle, arinaof ginger and beer, as you would expect. The taste is like ginger and beer, as you would expect. Has a little ginger burn finish, the best part is that it doesnít taste fake like fruit/chocolate beers can.

2.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Visual: Pours clear copper light brown with a dissipating small fizzy head, a very thin ringed retention, several slow-steady singular streams.
Nose: real ginger/sushi ginger, light toffee malts. Fragrant. (lvl-8)-pungency
Attack: ginger root numbness, light fizzy
Mid-palate: thin-bodied, (lvl-3)-sweetness, (MAIN) fresh ginger root, light toffee malt
Finish: medium intensifying ginger burn, thin-watery mouthfeel, long dry ginger burn finish.
Summary: Good real ginger flavour but thatís about it; no body, depth, texture, or complexity to back it up.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear golden pour, with a fizzy white head. Strong ginger, fresh and spicy, spritzy, mild grain, and very dry. Burns the nose a little. I like ginger ale and I like this, but not terribly complex.

Bottle into pint glass. Aroma is ginger. Taste is ginger. Not much else to say about this beer. I do not like it. This is a dumper.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Slightly cloudy orange-amber pour with a small, foamy off-white head. Aroma is mostly sweet, lots of ginger and a hint of lime. Flavour is less ginger than the aroma, just a minor tingle with a slight gingery flavour, and otherwise resembles a pretty plain pale ale. Comes together OK, but certainly nothing special. Seems like itís designed to pair well, not to drink alone.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
The second worst ginger beer I have ever had. Flat fizzy pour with a very stale ginger taste. Bleh. Phillips is better than this.
(Maybe it was stale because it was in a pre packaged 2014 Snowcase calendar, would be willing to retry).

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Pours a clear amber copper with a short-lived head diminishing rapidly to nothing and no lacing. Nose is overwhelmingly fresh ginger, with only the merest hint of caramel. Taste follows suit, with low sweetness, and a building spiciness. Medium body and flat carbonation.
Not all that interesting. I like a nice spicy ginger beer, and typically donít like a lot of sweetness, but despite its ticking both those boxes, Iím not all that fussed over this one. The low-lived head and carbonation probably contribute to this impression, and it feels like it would benefit from a little more sweetness.

2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Rating #816 - December 9, 2013 - Beer 9 of the Phillips Snowcase - 341mL Bottle. 5%. Clear golden pour with a bubbly white head. Aroma is real ginger and malty sweetness. Was expecting a fizzy, gingery mess, but this is balanced, crisp mouthfeel, little heavy on natural ginger flavour but not uninviting. One of the better ginger beers out there, but I must say this is not to my taste.
