3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Dull hazy tan, and the foam frothed up way too much. Not a good look. On the nose, a fair bit of leafy hop, and a pale malt / yeasty underpinning. Moderate bitterness up front, but gets more bitter towards the finish. The hops remain fairly leafy throughout - if these are Willamette they are actually some of the nicer Willamette Iíve tasted. The malts are a bit doughy, likely the influence of the yeastiness. That detracts from the ability of the malts to support this beer. The finish is that same mix of dry, leafy hop and doughy indistinct malts. Despite the issues, itís still a decent beer, just nowhere near Phillipsí best.

Phillips has some absolute great beers but their mainline is junk. Behold another example of a solid IPA with more grapefruit taste. Refreshing and nicely balance with malt notes.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance: clear deep gold with two fingers of fluffy white head, excellent retention and well-defined lacing. (4/5) Aroma: mint, melon, citrus, pale malt, pine, grass. (7/10) Taste: medium sweet and medium-strong bitter. (8/10) Palate: medium body, moderate carbonation, off-dry lingering and building bitter dank finish. (3/5)
Well, hell, thatís something. Thereís a whole kitchen sink of hops in that - just about every typical hop character you can think of is there. Lots of fun, if a little bit of a handful. (15/20)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
tootowsandfifteenversion. Freshly fresh with that íole Phillips yeast sticking in my craw. Iíve gotten used to it now that I finally hit up a couple that I quite enjoyed but it sticks out a bit too far in this one. Creamy feel with cool carbonation, big white fluff bomb on top and a messed up glass. Lots of obvious floaties. I swear Iím done with this Leffe glass for tasting - I always seem to have an issue with capturing the aroma. Maybe this one just is lacking. The stuff of smell: Mint, pine, melon and hints of patchouli. My glass looks like itís got some horrible El Salvadorian water borne disease. Flaves: Lots of flavourful hops, very leafy, mint, nonsweet caramel, thickness, pine, background melon and a long ass dry bitter finish mainly due to a thousand sips. Mouth feels like I ate a tube of Original Chapstick. Great label. Decent beer with flavours that do leap out at me. I donít think Iíd chose this as a multiple bottle brew.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber, 2015 version brewed with Centennial. Mostly clear golden orange, lotsa white floaties, off-white lasting foam. Leafy citric hoppy aroma. Taste is mostly fresh juicy citrus hop, faintly floral, some grapefruit, leaner pale/caramel malts. Softer carbonation, medium bodied, well hopped. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Visual: Pours golden orange with a large, slowly dissipating foamy head, webby sticky lacing, suspended large bits of sediment, a few bubbles here and there.
Nose: grapefruity hops, sweet malt. (lvl-6)-pungency
Attack: micro fizzy-creamy
Mid-palate: (lvl-6)-sweetness, light tangy-sour, (MAIN) bitter citrus-grapefruit, grassy, piney, barley malt
Finish: biting bitter grapefruity piney hops, plain barley malt, lingering bitter hop finish.
Summary: Lots of building bitterness, but mainly the dry grapefruity grassy type if thatís your thing. Nothing extraordinary and was hoping for more vibrant hop oils sine this being a wet hopped IPA.

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours a nice golden color with a white head. Aroma of Forrest and pine. Medium carbonation. Taste of pine, forrest, with some citrus. Very well balanced. Hoppy and the right amount of bitterness. Philips has never let me down and this one is very good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Had this a few years back... resin heavy with pine needles, light toasted caramel malts, not overly sweet either. Tons of juicy, lush citrus fruits, moderate bitterness.

Bottle. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Nice raw hop cone aroma along with notes of cut grass and a bit of tangelo. Upon drinking, I got a big metallic flavor upfront on the palate, before things drift into grass, dry bready malts, and a touch of light hard toffee. Moderate bitterness. I liked the aroma, but too bad about the metallic off-note in the mouth.
