Pours uh dark. Imperial stouts are good but typically they lack elegance and that’s why I rate them a tiny bit lower than average (though when they’re great the only word for that is transplendant... transpendant!"), I don’t think a lower-than average impy is any better than an average brown or bitter. This one, I think, is a bit lower than average because of the thinness and graininess; coffee and chocolate flavours are there but they both seem cheap. Soy sauce. Sorry, but nothing special.

Part of the sampler tray at the bitter tasting room in Vancouver. Very strong rich in chocolate and coffee. High alcohol. Well done

I guess this tastes like coffee and chocolate because those guys said so and it kind of does. I drank this second and it went down pretty easy. This is a good beer to drink after the first beer. Read this sentence second last.

Pours great with nice foamy mocha head but not so much lacing. Smells a liitle nutty with some booze and roast malt aromas. Medium consistency - light for style. Aftertaste is pretty light, doesnt stay with you long. A bit disappointing, actually. Had this bottle on sale at volos for $10! Great deal.

650 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with thin tan head. Aromas of dark chocolate powder and burnt malt. Flavors of bitter dark chocolate. Dry and somewhat acidic.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a nice black with little tan head. Roasted malts, chocolate, slight bitterness on the finish. Smooth, but I like my Imperial stouts heavier. Was oddly thin for 8.3. Decent flavor though. Alright brew.

0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 2/20
Pitch black, thin brown head. Deep chocolate malt nose. Thin bitter chocolate and roasted malt taste. Flat, bitter and sour... a concoction only a beersnob could love, certainly not a lagerboy! DNFL (Definately Not For Lagerboys)

4 oz sample courtesy of Cratez. A very dark oily pour with a creamy mocha cap. Mainly roasty nose has dark chocolate, some vanilla, and minty hops. Very bitter and roasty like black coffee. Almost no sweetness. Chalky and extremely dry. Full bodied and bitter finish with black coffee lingering. Good effort.
