Forget the label Josh. This beer looks fantastic...
Rich, sweet chocolate is complemented by raisin like fruitiness and charcoal ember roasted malt character in the nose. Opaque black body is topped by a generous and foamy, meringue-like, sticky, mocha-brown head that lasts throughout and coats the glass with lacing. Flavour follows the aroma - bittersweet chocolate, plenty of roasted malts, some dark fruitiness especially in the aftertaste. There must be quite a lot of bitterness (in terms of IBUs) to hold off all that sweetness, but it isn’t at all a bitter beer. Very well balanced for such a big beer. Medium full body with wonderful, soft-bubbled carbonation that caresses the tongue and cheeks. Tulip glass. Cellar temperature. Bottle (Brewery Creek, Jan-08).
I’m not really one to love this style as everyone seems to make one and they are all kind of run of the mill big beers, but when it’s done right, it sure is a pleasant surprise - and this one is most certainly done right!

Snow case day 6!(I’m a bit of a Phillips lover I’ll be honest...) Pours an opaque black with a large brown head that settles and leaves good lace on the glass. Aroma is roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and a mild sweet dark fruitiness/sweet maltiness mix. Flavour is rich roasted malts, dark chocolate, coffee, light malty sweetness, nice moderate bitterness(coffee/dark chocolate like) and a moderately dry finish. Excellent brew

Bottle - Roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Jet black with a brown small head. Bittersweet chocolate and espresso bitterness finishing a little sweet. A decent Imperial Stout.

Pours uh dark. Imperial stouts are good but typically they lack elegance and that’s why I rate them a tiny bit lower than average (though when they’re great the only word for that is transplendant... transpendant!"), I don’t think a lower-than average impy is any better than an average brown or bitter. This one, I think, is a bit lower than average because of the thinness and graininess; coffee and chocolate flavours are there but they both seem cheap. Soy sauce. Sorry, but nothing special.

I guess this tastes like coffee and chocolate because those guys said so and it kind of does. I drank this second and it went down pretty easy. This is a good beer to drink after the first beer. Read this sentence second last.
