4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 afksports (16) - Brooklyn, New York, USA - JUL 24, 2012It’s hard to comment that a 92 out of 100 is "underrating" a beer, but I’m going to do it. Maybe I’m just having it very fresh (courtesy of Mom), but this West Coast IPA is full of pine, grapefruit, sap with caramel and crystal malt, and a light body that finishes bitter and clean. Its aroma is perhaps the best, blending Belgian yeast and hops to make a freshly peeled orange skin. The 8% is a little too high for me, but there’s no trace of it in the taste. Light appearance, good head and lace, smooth drinking. This Belgian IPA should just go ahead and define the style. It’s impressive.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blackmetal (86) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 12, 2013
An interesting combination of grassy and spicy hops. Love the fruit undertones as per the Belgian style. Recommended but not wonderful.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 solidfunk (1789) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 7, 2013
Pungent initial aroma from hops. Nice mix of Belgian yeast, some florals and hoppy citrus. Pours golden clear with bleached head and some lacing. Finishes bitter with some sourness on longterm aftertaste. Carbonation lively. Medium body. Bottle from brewpub.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 vadie (210) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - MAY 3, 2013
Jaune/ambrée opaque avec une mousse moyenne blanche et épais. L’arôme d’houblon légèrement sucrée. Le goût est un peu sucrée et houblon. C’est pas mal onctueux. Carbonation moyenne avec les bulles douces.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 WoodersonMB (16) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 27, 2013
Orange/golden in appearance capped off with beautiful white head. TONS of orange and citrus on the nose underlined by some Belgian yeast. A bit bitter but also so damn smooth. Sunshine, a patio and a pint of this would be perfect. Great beer - seek this one out.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 piscator34 (1798) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 25, 2013
Bottled sample. Gold in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas are of sweet orange, lemon rind, white pepper, icing sugar and herbs. The flavour is a more earthy-herbal blend, backed by more sweet citrus. Medium bodied with a good amount of bitterness. A bit of a strange animal. I liked the aroma, but it was just a bit too earthy in the mouth for me.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 cards04 (824) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 20, 2013
Pours a nice light orange with big white head. Aromas of fresh oranges and lemons. That Belgian yeast strain too. Flavours are citrus and yeast with a nice bitter citrus taste. There is a rather unpleasant metallic aftertaste.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 northropfrye (1347) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - APR 20, 2013
Appearance is rather pale orange with foamy head and nice lacing. Definite aroma of citrus, sweet yeast, orange peel. Taste is moderately bitter with nice belgian sweet yeast qualities. Definitely don’t come into this one expecting American Style DIPA, because the Belgian notes are definitely present. Enjoyable and somewhat unique.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 TheRatKing (50) - Alberta, CANADA - APR 7, 2013
I don’t even know where to start. This beer is two of my most favourite breeds crossed together: the heady, sharp taste of a genuine IPA, and the rich, mellow sweetness of a Belgian. The hops gives you so much citrus and aroma, while the Belgian yeast provides the kind of richness that makes you want to just savour every mouthful. Hoperation Tripel Cross is easily on my top five beers of all time. Phillips Brewing, you magnificent bastards.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dresden (517) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - APR 1, 2013
Slight haze on a straw yellow beer with a foamy white head. Aroma is pine, some citrusy hops and a faint belgian yeast aroma. A little bit of spicy yeast, where i had hoped for more. Some grassy hop flavour and light citrus . A pretty nice, but reserved DIPA.
