mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours a light orange-golden body with a small white frothy head. Yeasty cheese aroma along with the expected fruity hops and pine. Fruity and hoppy flavours with a touch of bread malt balance. Caramel sweetness towards the finish. Pretty solid.
Sampled at Volo on April 29, 2006. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 19, 2006 Overload on the hops! This beer will beat down anything you had to taste before it in an instant. The hop doesn’t last TOO long, but wow! If I didn’t know that it was a beer I don’t think I’d be able to identify it in a blind taste test. Citrusy pine and a touch of sweetness. Radek Kliber (3926), Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), Ontario, Canada Apr 10, 2006 Bottle at Volo. Amber, gold, fine carbonation, large fizzy head sweet malt, clean hop nose, simple but it works for me. Very bitter front, green leaf. Bitter-sour finish, with shy malt work. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 9, 2006 Bottle at Volo. Clear golden-amber with a small white head. Resiny hop nose, lots of orange blossom and caramel malt - nice! Flavour holds a solid balance of grapefruity hops and sweet malt. A very good IPA - I’ll be enjoying more of these at Volo come patio season. Sammy (3934), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 3, 2006 Juicy and well malted IPA. Light orange with very thick head. Lace in glass is abundant.Hoppy and some yeast aroma. Nice bitter and also juicy. Smooth and easy drink. Not big and very pleasant, an astringency that matches meat jimbowood (947), Athens, Georgia, USA Mar 1, 2006 Bottle courtesy of joemcphee. Bitterness on the tongue w/ citrus flavor and caramel, brown sugar malty background. Good, drinkable, but not great. blankboy (3165), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 18, 2006 Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of tupalev. Pours a clear bubbly orange with a small diminishing white head. Very nice aroma of hops, hops, hops! Fresh citrus hops nicely balanced with some sweet malt. Flavour’s also nice and hoppy but a tad thin -- great lasting bitterness to it though. Wow, this was a nice surprise and a great way to start our tasting. A solid IPA. HogTownHarry (3922), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Feb 17, 2006 Bottle (341ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev - tupalev’s bottle. Poured hazy orange with a small white diminishing head. Aroma of sweet orange juice and fresh juniper hops - on warming I got crushed mint leaf pungency, with lemon black pepper and ginger spiciness. Strong pungently fresh resiny hops, bitter grapefruit pith, some sweet malt, and a long bitter finish. The mouthfeel was a bit odd, astringent, decent body, I almost found it chewy - a solid IPA, nothing spectacular - even.
