Trev (850), Lakeville, Minnesota, USA Aug 6, 2005 From the bottle: Pours a medium copper with large and lasting (very) creamy off white head. Aroma of floral hops hits straight away. Great appearance and aroma lead to an average though quality taste. Assertive bitter hop flavour with a slight malty sweetness in the background.
Long bitter aftertaste. Very nice IPA in the traditional style. mj (4971), Colorado, USA Aug 5, 2005 Draft. Semi-cloudy golden orange appearance, soft colors. Fruity, smooth, hearty and soft fruit flavors, some spicy, fruity citrus hops, sweet everywhere. The smell is hoppy oranges and sweet peaches. Tart body, sweet resiny, oily finish... like orange popcicle flavors, actually. A very good IPA, I was impressed. HazelRah (276), Summerland, British Columbia, Canada Jul 19, 2005 Nose of hops, is a little sweet from the crystal and chocolate malts. A little more citrusy than hophead. Coats the tongue in fine fashion. Hops pick up steam up the sinuses as it warms. Lovely hop bite at back of the throat. frink (467), coquitlam, British Columbia, Canada Jan 4, 2005 Updated: Feb 23, 2007Pours a nice copper/orange colour with a white lasting head. Citric hop aroma with a hint of vanilla and some mild malt notes. The flavour had a so so hop bite but the mouthfeel was a bit thin. This caused this beer to be just average. Oh well. Next!
Well I’ve been drinking this recently and it sure is better than I remember, grapefruity hop flavour well balanced malt and not as thin as I remembered either. An I.P.A. that has made it’s way into the regular rotation. beerbuzzmontreal (2909), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Dec 26, 2004 Pours a cloudy orange blonde color wih yeast in suspension. Aroma of grapefruit ans spices. Strong flavor of grapefruit, spices and something sweet, maybe caramel, mild bitter finish. Light to medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Not bad at all, an entertaining and enjoyable IPA but not an excellent one. stephen louis (162), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Dec 16, 2004 On the pour : light gold with tonnes of particulates. The nose is lots of hops Cascade and something with a lemon smell to it.I think this will be good!
On taste:This is 6.5%..you would never know it.Smooth is its first second and third name, now for details.at the start...hops perfectly blended with malt..and I mean perfect.
The middle is slightly sweet but with lemon...realy the taste is simple and consistent to the end a beautiful blend of hops and malt,I really think this is what a IPA should be...not complicated. It is a ale that needed to travel some distance, this one can do it.A true India Pale Ale OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Jul 4, 2004 Light orange colour with a thick, frothy, and rocky tan head. Pine and citrus aroma with earthy notes. Brown sugar and biscuit malts with a restrained but pleasant earthy and grapefruit bitter finish. Light to medium bodied and dry mouthfeel. shadey (1496), Rochester, New York, USA Jun 13, 2004 Wow... I can’t believe you people are rating this beer so poorly. I thought this was delicious. Definite citrus aroma and flavor. Grapfruit aftertaste. This was a pleasure to drink.
