Bottle courtesy of a judging pack from the Canadian Brewing Awards. Very pale straw-gold colour wiht a tight white head. The aroma is awesome - bright peppery, resiny nose. A little bit of spice and a lot of juicy hop fruitiness. Lemony citrus and a nice clean bitterness. Really lovely brew - completely quaffable.

Damn good beer. Great looking pour. Huge rocky white head which hangs around. Nice floral hoppy aromas. Sessionable. Hoppy, solid carbonation. Young fresh fruits, grapefruits, definitely "C" hops a plenty. The Rye is a cool subtle background twist. Adds a certain body to the beer on the back end different than most. Very cool.

Bottle. Nice rich clear gold ale. One finger head. Lacy. Plenty hoppy and offset by decent malt body. The surprise was the lack of toastyness that I usually find with rye PA’s. I didn’t find that here.

Pours a clear golden orange with a nice thin frothy white cap that leaves tons of sticky lacing in this goblet. Aroma of pine and grapefruit up front with some malty sweetness and a lemon/lime type finish. Taste is pine and grapefruit up front, then the rye malts kick and give it light sweet and grassy/herbal finish with a long lasting bitterness. Big carbonation brings out full flavor in this baby and makes it dance I am your tongue for as long as you let it.

A twist from the barley malt only IPA. The back bone is still hoppy and bitter like what you would expect from an IPA but not overpowering. Phillips handles the rye malt with finesse -- adding a unique grassy, Japanese green tea like nuance to the beer.

Hazey copper with a 1" crown floating on top, looks completely average. Deep yummy smelling hops, pine, grapefruit, and the always awesome lemon lime finish. The malts smell smooth thick and sweet. Yum, yum, yum!!! My mouth is so happy right now. Rye PA’s are the best thing known to man. Looooooove the rye malt. Watermelon (thanks Glouglouburp) pine, lime, tons of resin. Sigh.....malts could be more flavorful. Very sweet but an awesome sweet that leaves a bitter lingering in the mouth after every sip. I’m drinking to quickly for my own good. YUM I SAY YUM!!
