4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours a clear light amber with a frothy lasting white head, decent lacing. Powerful hop aroma, floral and citrus nots. Taste: quite hoppy, moderate bitterness, notes: floral, citrus. remains steady with the hops as it warms. Medium body. Finishes with a grassy bitterness. This one is all about the hops; lots of flavour but not overpowering on the bitterness. Definitely a tasty brew!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Beer Revolution and in bottle from the Phillips Hop Pack (ratings were similar, a little less punchy on tap than in the bottle).
This was a deep coppery brown coloured pour with a mild tan foam that faded to a ring. Nose was mango, mandarin orange. Mild alcohol warmth and carbonation (well disguised at 6.5%) Taste is a mild peppery smokiness from the rye grain, mild toffee and caramel malt sweetness, but a boatload of hop punches, citrusy, grassy. Finishes smooth, nice bitterness.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Strong mango, candy aroma. Bitter grapefruit, then cotton candy, bittersweet finish. Quite fruity and hoppy, but feels a bit unbalanced and overly sweet.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours cloudy amber. Small head that vanishes quickly, good lacing. Smells of citrus, cedar, tangerine. More floral hop taste with some malt undertones and a rye spiciness. A little on the malt sweet side, would not drink a lot of these. Nice to enjoy ever once and a while. Something different from the Phillips crew.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle at the Hangover. Golden colour, small off-white head. Aroma is pleasantly fruity, nice citrus, rye funkiness too. Taste is good, nice bitterness, rye weirdness. Pretty nice.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Hazy orange/yellow colour, white head. Very mild on the nose, hints of floral and grassy notes. Taste is quite strong. Dry with some bitterness. Strong carbonation so it’s a bit sharp on the palate. It is very similar to an IPA which I guess was intended. The rye makes at different as it is that rich with the usual hop/pine taste. Not bad.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a clear golden amber ale with a decent head and good lacing. A good looking beer for sure.
Orange peel, grass and burnt grass notes decorate the bouquet. A bit of cloves too, in fact
The first sip is delicious. The rye definitely comes out introducing an interesting grainy edge to the malty taste.
The palate is decent but a bit unbalanced. I have a feeling the rye malts don't complement the hops very well in this beer. It's definitely different but a big bitter component throughout the palate makes it a tad less enjoyable.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from Asahiya. Deep citrus, bitter peach pits, some minor funky notes, too. Hazy light honey color. Fresh, bright fruit juice / hops emerge gradually / finish is crisp and slightly sweet. Medium body. Very pleasant and balanced. Not as hoppy as they think it is, and I don’t really feel or taste the rye.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle courtesy of a judging pack from the Canadian Brewing Awards. Very pale straw-gold colour wiht a tight white head. The aroma is awesome - bright peppery, resiny nose. A little bit of spice and a lot of juicy hop fruitiness. Lemony citrus and a nice clean bitterness. Really lovely brew - completely quaffable.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Damn good beer. Great looking pour. Huge rocky white head which hangs around. Nice floral hoppy aromas. Sessionable. Hoppy, solid carbonation. Young fresh fruits, grapefruits, definitely "C" hops a plenty. The Rye is a cool subtle background twist. Adds a certain body to the beer on the back end different than most. Very cool.
