650 ml bottle. Pours black with light tan head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of heavily roasted malts, chalk, and cocoa powder. Definite lactose notes with flavors of malts, sweet watery cocoa, and cola. Light and oily with a fair amount of carbonation. OK.

(650ml bottle) Purchased at Liquor Plus Douglas. Pouts a lasting, medium frothy beige head atop a deep ruby black body. Nose of fruity coffee and ash. Flavour is rather rich, good chocolate nib notes mid-palate and a creamy roasted finish. Between this Phillips and Parallel 49's concurrent offering I definitely prefer this one. Nice job.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of light roasted malts, lactose, and some sweet chocolate. Flavour is quite milky, with loads of lactose dominating, some light roast, and some subtle chocolate. Quite a milky palate, certainly true to style, with a bland milky finish. Decent stuff, just nothing special.

A mild stout, no diacetyl, pretty low fruitiness, the hops are fun. Medium body, kind of creamy but a little more dry than I expected. Reminds me of Lighthouse Keepers with a tad more roast. Good, but pretty forgettable.

Pours a jet black colour with a frothy tan head. Aromas of chocolate malts and heavy cream. Something I can’t quite describe in the aroma makes it smell off to me. Taste and mouthfeel is very milky, also tastes of cocoa and light espresso, with a slightly bitter aftertaste.

On tap at the brewery. Pours black with a medium brown foamy head. Aroma is burnt malt, grainy toast, dark roast coffee with creamer, chocolate. Taste starts out on the rich and hearty side, but softens as you drink. Has a smooth, bitter-sweet finish. Medium-bodied, thick and creamy, very tasty.
