Pours a dark brown with tan head. Smells like chocolate syrup and toasted cocoa nibs. Some vanilla too. Thin and Carbonated... not exactly how I like my porters. Dark chocolate flavours. Not bad.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Aroma of vanilla and chocolate. Frothy creamy head with brown-black body. Chocolate and vanilla taste without being very sweet. Nice.

northropfrye (1352) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - MAY 18, 2013
Dark brown body with brown head, not much lacing, head does not last long. Aroma of brownie dough, sweet yeast, cocoa powder. Taste is nice and sweet, a touch of dark chocolate bitterness. Quite nice overall.

solidfunk (1790) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 1, 2013
Heavy vanilla nose. The dark chocolate gives off some aroma, but vanilla is unbalanced. Pours cloudy dark with pretty good head and lacing. Average carbonation for style. Finishes bitter vanilla. Ok package, just a little average overall. On tap at the Beagle Pub.

Eyrish (31) - British Columbia, CANADA - APR 27, 2013
Dark ebony with slight head. Lacing left behind. Medium Carbonation. Malty sweetness of chocolate and molasses with hints of vanilla when inhaled. Sweet on the tongue with a bitter lingering. Smoky coffee aftertaste. Smooth on the palate, leaving an effervescent tingle. An easy drinking flavoured porter.

Poured from a 650 bomber. Thin Mocha colored Head recedes quickly. Too thin for my liking, (think bath bubbles). chocolate alcohol nose. Thin mouthfeel. Needs more carbonation. Body is appropriately a dark chocolate brown. Taste is okay. Hints of molasses. May appeal to some due the chocolate, but I find it comes off flat. Overall I'm disappointed, this was much better a few years ago. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
