3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark brown body with thick, brown, creamy, luscious head. Deep chocolate dust notes play up the bouquet, segueing into a definite chocolate accented flavor. Not as heavy as expected, but creamy, smooth, and chocolatey. Wet finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
650ml bottle, 5.5% a/v
Pours dark reddish brown to the extent of being black unless a light is right behind it. Thin Tan head. The nose is of dark chocolate, malts and coffee. Very dark chocolate and dark coffee taste with a strange and very chocolatey aftertaste. This is like a liquid alcoholic chocolate bar. Great for any chocolate fanatics out there, or just dark beer fans in general.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark, dark reddish brown (virtually black). Grainy sweet-malt aroma, chocolate. Tastes of coffee (not espresso) and milk chocolate, roasted malt, sweet dark malt, and reasonably present hops. Thin yet milky body, decent carbonation. I am impressed with the hopping in this porter, but it needs more body to support the flavours it intends to convey to the drinker.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Nice deep brown colour. Minor head. A little light on the body. Scent of chocolate and coffee, mocha, very prevalent. Tastes quite similar, does not disappoint. Again, a bit weak on the body side but overall a nice choco beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Burnt norwa, milk chocolate and some espresso flavours dominate, although some fruity notes in the nose and a noticable but not unpleasant sour and slightly salty finish. Palateís too thin, however. Decent, bound to attract people based on the name, but itís not thick or robust enough to support it.

smells great! lots of chocolate inthe aroma, very sweet, and nice.
Body is quite thin, and watery. Flavour is pretty watery also, and very thin, from that aroma you would expect something thick. aftertaste is like a big whiff of cocoa powder. Flavour doesnt live up to the aroma. A nice try, but pretty thin.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
650 mL bottle from Burnaby, served at cellar temp in a tulip glass.
App.: Deep-dark brown-black, like rootbeer, with a smallish tan head.
Aroma: MmmmmÖ chocolate, dark chocolate. French-roast coffee, vanilla, dark roasted malts, some burnt sugar/molasses, sort of a sour funk in the background.
Palate: Medium body, fairly full carbonation.
Flav.: Off-dry, dark chocolate and coffee, quite like the nose. A touch thin at the finish, but leaves a faint memory of dark-roasted malts and very light mouth-coating.
Not good enough to be a yacht, but certainly sea-worthy.

This beer, it is dark and all. But head there is not, Smells like Count Chocula and dark chocolate. So not too bad if you know what I mean, which you very well might not. But who cares... eh. It tastes like dark chocolate. It tastes a little like coffee as well (I mean I was gonna say espresso, but who really knows what espresso tastes like... thatís right, nobody actually does... what objective method do we have to measure espresso taste... afterall some espresso tastes worse than a morman coffee.) Wow that was a rant. The beer itself is pretty light bodied actually. Good stuff. Quite drinkable. Would do it again. Eh up!
