4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bomber bottle. Pours a very dark brown/red that is mostly opaque with a frothy, lasting tan head. Moderate aroma that is of chocolate. Taste: malty, definite chocolate notes, warming mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Some hop bitterness warms into your mouth, herb-like. Finishes with a chocolate maltiness and a touch of grassy hop bitterness. Very complex; full-bodied. A most excellent flavoured porter!

On draft at the brewery. Brown pour, with a tan head. Lots of chocolate, roasted malt, cocoa powder, and fairly sweet. Not my thing, but I’m sure some people would like it.

Big chocolatey taste but unfortunately I don’t enjoy porters. Phillips is amazing though!

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle bought in Vancouver, don’t remember where. Pours black with tiny biege head. Aroma: hints of chocolate, milk, alcohol and malt. Subtle. Doesn’t taste much. Little bit of carbonation. Mineral feeling. Way too thin. Disappointing, although it may have some potential.
