Bomber bottle. Pours a very dark brown/red that is mostly opaque with a frothy, lasting tan head. Moderate aroma that is of chocolate. Taste: malty, definite chocolate notes, warming mouthfeel, moderate carbonation. Some hop bitterness warms into your mouth, herb-like. Finishes with a chocolate maltiness and a touch of grassy hop bitterness. Very complex; full-bodied. A most excellent flavoured porter!

Bottle into glass. Aroma of chocolate with a hops background. Pours black with minimal tan head. Taste is medium bitter. Full bodied with an oily texture, and very fizzy carbonation. Would be good if it wasnít over carbonated.

Rich and chocolaty with a bit of roast. Sweet up front turning more bitter in the finish. Still definitely a dessert beer, though.

Appearance: nearly opaque black, one fat finger of fluffy tan head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, minimal lacing. (3/5) Aroma: milky chocolate, light coffee, malted milk, lightly nutty. (7/10) Taste: moderate-high sweet, moderate bitter. (7/10) Full body, moderate-low carbonation, lingering bitter finish. (4/5) Sweet and milky chocolate leads out, but itís backed up with enough bitterness to keep it from being cloying. Decent depth and pleasantly balanced. (14/20)

Bottle from the Strath. Pours black with a thin khaki head. leaves trace lacing in the glass. massive chocolate notes on the nose. very nicely done. lovely chocolate on the tongue as well. Has a nice amount of bitterness on the finish to keep things tidy and neat. Definitely the highlight of the trip.

Had a very light taste for a porter. Still enjoyable though with light hints of chocolate.

Draught. Black pour with a thin tan head. As the name implies lots of dark chocolate in the nose and taste. Some roasted malt as well. Heavy body. Nice dessert.
