Foncer, beaucoup de chocolat... manque un peu de corps mais c est une bonne porter quand meme. Dark, lots of chocolate... lacking in body but still a decent porter.

Aroma : rich chocolate and roasty malt character Taste: bitter taste paired with smokey chocolate maltiness however it is a bit more hoppy than id like for a porter . Appearance : dark brown body a thick creamy head with medium retention

Lighter bodied than Iím used to from a porter, but the chocolate and nutty notes are really well harmonized and flavorful. -- Aroma: 7/10. Chocolate, caramel. -- Appearance: 4/5. Pours a dark cola with almost no head. Lively carbonation keeps the foam at the edges going throughout. -- Taste: 9/10. Sweet chocolate, honey, and a definite nutty flavor that reminds me of peanuts or walnuts. Medium sweet, light bitter, a little sour. -- Palate: 3/5. Thinner body than Iíd like with a porter or stout, but the balance is nice, the palate is gently silky, and the finish is surprisingly crisp. Carbonation is lively in this, much more so than Iím used to in a porter, but thatís not a bad thing here. -- Overall: 15/20. Straight up a tasty and very approachable beer. The combination of chocolate and nutty notes, and very gentle hopping, makes this a surprisingly easy to drink beer. Itís not the most complex beer out there, but itís definitely one I could session through a few bottles of.

Rating #832 - December 14, 2013 - Beer 14 in the Phillips Snowcase Advent Calendar. Clear, dark brown pour with a foamy, tan head. Aroma is dark roast malts, chocolate, and almonds. Taste is full-bodied, smooth, and loaded with toasted malt character, but almost too chocolately. Overloaded with a powdery cocoa note. Lingering bitterness, mild chalkiness.

A nice chocolate porter. Pours clear dark brown. Nice lacing. Smells of chocolate, rum tarts and molasses. Taste has chocolate, a spiced winter cake flavour and a smooth dark chocolate finish. A great dessert beer ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Snowcase day 14. Pours a clear dark brown color with a nice frothy brown head that leaves lace. Aroma of chocolate, cocoa powder and a creamy latte. Taste is roasted malt, chocolate and a nice dark cocoa bitterness on the finish. Overall a nice chocolate porter with a smooth chocolate flavor that blends well with the roasted malts.

Bottle - Sweet chocolate nose. Jet black with a thick tan head. Lots of chocolate and some roast malts. Finished slightly bitter sweet. Very nice beer, but pretty much all chocolate and nothing else.

Bottle from Graham. Thanks! A: Black as the inside of a burlap bag. Hefty cappuccino head. Good legs. N: Chocolate syrup, some coffee, vanilla. Pea soup. T: Malt/milk chocolate sweetness. Touch of roast/bitterness. M: Medium light body. Has a watery texture. O: Good if lacking in complexity.

Dark brown slightly illuminated by light. Rich chocolate nutty smell. Good chocolate taste. Smooth and creamy hazel-nutty. It rinses quick.

Tap, brewery. Pours a clear dark brown with a small wispy off-white head that faded to a thin ring. The nose is super chocolaty and sweet, it smells like dessert in a glass. The flavor is super solid, great milk chocolate, a bit on the sweeter side perhaps, but I sort of expected that. Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Iím a sucker for Porters with chocolate in them, and this one certainly delivers.
