Admin Notice (Capflu): Slipstream Cream Ale is 2008's version of Draught Dodger without the Maple Syrup (confirmed June 9, 2008). I suspect they are using up the last of the old labels.

Aroma is a roasty caramel and molasses one. Some vanilla. Taste is a sweet maltiness paired with a basic bitterness. There is some malt richness but the overall malt/hop complexity is fairly basic.Appearance is a clear dark amber with well retained heading

Hazy and copper. True, smells of sweet toffee. Flavour is on the sweeter side. It is smooth, small bubbles just before it finishes. As the liquid warmed in my goblet, the taste got less desirable. Not bad mind you, just the malt came forward. Not as balanced as others have suggested. Am I smelling a hint of banana? I like they put the ingredients on the label. This should be legally mandatory.

An OK cream ale. Pours cloudy amber, lacks head. Smells of roasted malt, toffee, dough. Taste is malty, sweet finish. A bit too malty for an ale for me. Not a great balance, malt and sweet predominate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear, deep amber pour. Aroma is caramel, butterscotch, bread. Flavour is doughy, slightly sweet, barely noticeable hops and a crisp finish with some caramel sweetness.

Just ok...but for me to say that about anything even remotely connected to Phillips Brewery is something - just not a fan. Slipstream, it seems, is one of the few more malty offerings by a brewery known chiefly for cramming as much hops as is humanly possible into almost every beer they brew. Pours a light reddish-brown, not much head on it. Aroma is quite faint - mostly bread. It tastes like they desperately wanted to stuff hops into it, but held back - it has that slight hint of hops to it, but thankfully not to much. Taste is mostly biscuit, bread, with some caramel. Not too bad. Overly-carbonated, but a decent lingering flavor. I would drink it again, oddly enough - it’s not so bad.

Bottle - Caramel and grains. Clear amber with almost no head. Caramel and grains, with very little bitterness. A little dark and grainy for a cream ale.

Bottle: Poured an amber color ale with a large bubbly head with OK retention and not much lacing. Aroma of light cereal notes and dry grain is OK. Taste is dominated by grainy notes with light cereal. Body is about average with good carbonation and a light creamy texture. Quite bland and not even something I would drink as a session.

Pours a clear medium amber color with a nice frothy and lacey off white head. Aroma of nuts, chocolate malt most bordering on roasted, quite pleasant. Taste is biscuit, chocolate and nuts some but straight forward and tasty. Definitely a style that needs more of this in it, excellent session ale.
