Admin Notice (Capflu): Slipstream Cream Ale is 2008's version of Draught Dodger without the Maple Syrup (confirmed June 9, 2008). I suspect they are using up the last of the old labels.

ENG: 341ml bottle without the "cream" - just Ale. Purchased in Liquor Depot @ Whyte, Edmonton. Color is clean amber with medium head. Saturation is not too big. A bit skunky and sweet aromas. Taste is quite sour and malty with caramel and a bit roasty notes, with a mild sour/bitter aftertaste. The beer is very smooth, although it’s quite boring. ///~~~///~~~/// ///~~~///~~~/// ///~~~///~~~/// ///~~~///~~~/// PL: Butelka 341ml z nową etykietą - po prostu Ale, bez dopiski "cream". Kupiona w Liquor Depot w Edmonton. Kolor klarowny, bursztynowy z niewielką pianą. Nasycenie nie za mocne. Dziwny, lekko śmierdząco-słodki aromat. W smaku dość kwaśne i słodowe z karmelowymi i palonymi nutami, z średnio kwaśno-gorzkim posmakiem. W smaku nieco wygładzone, niemniej jednak dość nudne.

Bottle. Darkish amber-brown colour, not much head. Malty caramel and butterscotch, a touch of marshmallow in the aroma. Heavier on the palate than expected, but not a lot of lingering flavour; a touch metallic. Not bad, but very simple and fairly boring.

Ratebeer’s info on this is outdated... new bottle in 2014 looks different and has dropped the cream ale advert. Very nice ale, notes of chocolate, toffee, malts, etc. Very smooth and easydrinking.

341ml bottle. Malt-heavy, sweet and caramel-ish. Thin-bodied, slightly oily and light. Low bitterness.

Bottle to sam adams glass, beer poured a transparent dark amber color with a cream colored head that rapidly faded. Aroma carries some grassy hop notes with caramel...but unfortunately not much else. Taste is typical beer taste...subtle blend of malts and hop but nothing to set it apart from the rest of the crop. Palate...thin bodied, easy drinking co2 medium. Overall...not bad but nothing special.

Aroma is a roasty caramel and molasses one. Some vanilla. Taste is a sweet maltiness paired with a basic bitterness. There is some malt richness but the overall malt/hop complexity is fairly basic.Appearance is a clear dark amber with well retained heading

Hazy and copper. True, smells of sweet toffee. Flavour is on the sweeter side. It is smooth, small bubbles just before it finishes. As the liquid warmed in my goblet, the taste got less desirable. Not bad mind you, just the malt came forward. Not as balanced as others have suggested. Am I smelling a hint of banana? I like they put the ingredients on the label. This should be legally mandatory.
