COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Straight from the Phillips’ dept of renegade science comes this super-charged isotope: chemists doubled the brewtrons of spicy rye malt and citrus hops in our Krypton Rye PA recipe to create this hop atomic variant. Careful, it radiates flavour.

650ml bottle pours a slightly hazy golden orange color with a 2 finger white head that retains well and leaves a bit of spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma is very pleasing with some fresh floral notes and hints of citrus. Taste is a big bold citrus and pine hop bitterness with very little malt sweetness and a bit of alcohol noticeable in the finish. Medium to heavy bodied with a modest amount of carbonation. A decent DIPA, but a little bit harsh on the palate. Can only give a light recommendation.

Pours a hazy golden/amber colour And a nice frothy white head that leaves good lace up the glass. Aroma is sweet malts, citrus, fruity, and floral. Flavour consists of grapefruit, a strong resin, pine, sweet malts, bitterness is quite high, spicy, rye notes, and overall doesn’t blend as well as one might hope but is still an alright beer.

Pours a cloudy orangish copper with a frothy white head and lots of lacing. Aroma of sweet spicy malts, citrus hops and sweet fruity notes wonderful! Taste is spicy rye malts, huge citrus hops and some lingering sweetness. The spicy rye malts and bitter hops are a bit astringent otherwise this is a decent double rypa.

Bottle, shared with Parksy. Light hazy golden, thick white head. Intensely hoppy aroma, citrus, pine, guava. Hop dominated palate as expected, but lacking somewhat in pleasant aromatics, heavy on the bitterness to the point of scorching the palate a little. Not enough malty sweetness to balance thing out. I’m pleased that the annoying powdery aspect that I find in many Phillips’ brews was not found here, but a little disappointed that this beer didn’t holdup othe non-impy Krypton, which I really like.

Bottle - Earthy hops, spicy, citrus and pine. Clear copper with nice medium head. Upfront some hop sweetness and then right to the bitterness, much like it’s little brother. Nice and thick on the tongue, not bad but too much bitterness.

My friend told me about this local upstart named "Phillips" so I thought I’d check them out. Aroma is simple peach and pine, flavour is... paint thinner, and apparently it’s worked to make the body thin as well. I’ve had some top notch rye DIPAs, but this doesn’t hold up to the original Krypton even, sad to say. Fairly good aroma is really all this has going for it.

Pours hazy orange with thin head. Nose is citrus and some of the rye notes come through. Citrus hoppiness, mid range malt. Could use some more sweetness. Some alcohol in the finish.

Why did I just open a 650ml 8.5% bottle at 10:00pm. Light amber body with tall white fluffy crown that reduced to a nipple. Big hoppy aroma floral to almost fuzzy peach, can’t hit the rye yet. Rye is in the taste but its being obliterated by the hop. This drinks easy and fast. Lively carbonation tickles the throat and warms the stomach. After taste is dry and dusty. Fuzzey peach candy, earth, slight pine. All hail hypno toad!!! I keep hitting elements of bread but its hard to find. Crap I’m three quarters done and its only 10:11........My brain feels all warm and fuzzy. There are more flavours here but I can’t but a name to them. Is this a good beer.....maybe......easy to drink and tasty..... yes......... does it hold up against other IIPA’s/Rye PA’s...... noooooooooooo not even close. hahahahaha and I’m done the beer before the end of Futurama, its new record!!

Bottle. I like Krypton and normally but this big brother is even better. Description says everything is doubled but the hops come out the winner. Golden amber with a full head. Interesting aroma may be a product of the rye. Flavour is hops all the way through and a nice malt base with the welcome rye.

Not bad, but definitely misses the mark. Pours a bright golden yellow body with a thin and dissipating beige head. The nose is fresh, floral, zesty and is definitely the best part of this beer. The taste is rather bland and flat with light caramel and rye notes, lemon and grapefruit, mild resin and sweetness. A bit bland overall though. The body is a bit messed with a lack of a resinous smack. Overall, a good brew but boring!
