3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 reebtogi (3262) - Edmonton, Alberta, - FEB 10, 2013650ml bottle pours a light amber brown color with a small white head that leaves very little lacing behind. Aroma is caramel and oak with hints of vanilla. Taste is a caramel malty sweetness with vanilla and a light grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not as bold as many scotch ales that I have tried, more refreshing and easy to drink. Definitely, something that you could drink all night long.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 lotsalaughs (104) - Alberta, CANADA - MAY 5, 2013
caramel, roasty, toast, grass, earthy, butterscotch, smoke, alcohol, amber, clear, minimal head, white foam, light sweetness, lightly bitter, medium body, sticky, soft carbonation, bitter, long finish
Amber pour with minimal white foam. Very complex aromas with alcohol underlying. Smoky and butterscotch hints subtle and well balanced within the toasted malt. Taste has a strong sweetness with mild bitterness and some vanilla. Alcohol definitely there, but not with a dry heat that overpowers. Carbonation is mild, and sticky mouthfeel as expected. Finish is a bit boozy with a smoky (peat?) bitterness. I liked this one, and will sip it again one day.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 andrewturba (456) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 4, 2013
Pours a clear copper colour with a reddish tinge and a small creamy lasting off white lace. Aroma is rich malt, caramel, earthy, some alcohol(from the barrel) and smoke. Flavour is a smooth bourbon(including a warming sensation), caramel sweetness, a light presence of roasted malt and a touch of vanilla. Bit of a creamy mouth feel which is nice.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Reimer96 (589) - Alberta, CANADA - MAR 4, 2013
Pours a clear amber color with a nice off white head that leaves some lacing. Aroma of oak, Vanilla, sweet brown sugar and some peat . Taste is caramel, Vanilla, wood and a sharp booze flavor that is a bit overwhelming at first but then turns into a sweet cotton candy effect on the end. Nice barrel aged scotch beer but could use a bit more balance to be even better.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 patricks110 (1212) - Alberta, CANADA - FEB 27, 2013
Pours a caramelized orangey amber with a thick foamy white head and a few splotches of lacing on the glass. The aroma has a rich mildly roasted malt with a hint of fruit amongst a light smoky and earthen maltly aromas. A hint of bourbon sweetness and a subtle note of vanilla. Rather sweet flavor profile with a hint of smoke and mild roasted notes. Of fruity flavors as well as some floral and vanilla subtleties. Overall not bad and a good sweet Maltly brew.
2.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 RumRunner101 (382) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 25, 2013
Pours a red amber with white head. Aroma is sweet - brown sugar, vanilla, caramel, light cereals. Flavour is heavy sweet malts with the flavour from the bourbon barrels coming through. Creamy and sweet. Too sweet. There’s a bit of an alcohol burn on the finish. I don’t like this. I’m concerned I got an off bottle judging by the previous good ratings and all I can taste is buttery sweetness.

650mL bottle, pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of whiskey, oak, and some subtle caramel malts. Flavour of wood, oak, slightly sweet caramel malts, and candied sugar. Nice balance of flavours, though not quite complex or full-bodied enough for it to be overly enjoyable. Decent stuff.
